[Help!] Kozelsk CTD issue

I am trying to develop more map sizes for the skirmish game mode to liven up the infantry action on said game mode.
The trouble is, I cannot copy kozelsk, rename it to Kozelsk Skirmish Test, (in the file name it is kozelsk_skirmish, on the .desc it is kozelsk_skirmish, and in the desc it say Kozelsk Skirmish Test) and then load up. It loads to a number before 50 percent and then CTD's.
I windowed the game so I could see a crash description but nothing comes up.
I also, have only modified the GPO so nothing is wrong in that area. To prove that, I added another layer, 32, and played it on regular Kozelsk. (It's pretty sweet, need to talk to a DEV for game play guidelines and whatnot.)
So, what do you have for me? I dont want to keep messing up my own files so I get punkbuster kicked because I have forgotten to replace the regular file.
TL;DR: How do I stop a copy Kozelsk from CTD'ing?

24 views and nothing, come on gentlemen, there is a good chance I can pump out multiple layouts for multiple maps before the release if I can get this issue identified and resolved.

I think your idea of having different skirmish layouts might be a good one (at least for some maps) and quite feasible with AASv4. However, I'm not sure why you feel like you can do this yourself. Map changes are made by the mapper or PR management and making changes to the files after release will assuredly cause punkbuster kicks. A better way to approach this is to post your idea in the idea thread and maybe an example or two to show how it would work... then players and PR team members can give feedback. Sometimes there are game play issues that you don't think of or technical issues (like the one that's possibly causing your CTDs).
In any case, this isn't something that would affect 0.966 so you have time. Post your ideas here:

Yeah I just saw
The Password Page, so uh, nevermind about "Before the release" lol.
To the point, I feel that I can do it on my own because a while ago, when I actually made the suggestion I was told that "Nothing is stopping you from going and downloading BF2 Editor." So I did.

your problem is clearly that your files in the map aren't pointing to the correct map location
you'd need to go in to the map files and load each relevant file up and change the locatino of the map to your skirmish map to run your new GPOs without affecting your ability to play online
I recommend using editpad lite and going through your map files replacing kozelsk with kozelsk_skirmish, you can use teh save as function in the editor but thats far less reliable.
however I am sure that we don't want to persue multiple skirmish layers for one reason - beta testing.
Each layer has to be loaded to be checked out, if we had 2 extra skirmish layers per map thats 56 extra layers to test, which means 1) more work for mappers, 2) more work for testers 3) longer test cycles
However mate, if you wanna get in to GPO modifications and basic mapping PLEASE DO, there are alot of tasks a basic GPO editor can do on his own initiative, e.g. Animalmother (a tester) was the one to get our altenate team layers going and also implemented balance fixes, and insurgency on Dragonfly.

I do believe I am getting a mixed response from the DEV team to go ahead with this or not.
If beta testing is the concern, I have a bunch of guys all lined up to test on my end. Over and over again.
Again, if that is the only concern I would like to move forward with GPO edits. And at least 1 layer, lets say the 32 layer running AASv4

The DEV team is a loosely knit group. It's not like we work for EA or something... so you're going to get slightly different views on things. As the Mapping Manager, I gave you my answer. You are more than welcome to fiddle with the GPOs and use them for your own use on a passworded server, but altering a map in any way for public use requires permission from the map's developer or the PR management team.
If you would like to proceed with the private altering of GPOs and feel like you came up with some good ones, pm them to me and I will forward them to the maps' developers for consideration.
