pfff....96???

Im VERY VERY excited about the fixes to maps and the game, UAV woot woot. The new bleeding feature sounds interesting.

A long long time from now the next major patch will include things like next mumble patch, possibly 128 man servers and 128man adjusted maps, what would that be called?

dare i say..... 1.0 ?

Just proud of what the r-dev have made, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS !

i am hoping for a 0.98/0.97 then then 0.99 then at 1.0 all the bugs will be ironed out with those features etc.

There will be a 128 layer with extra transport on Kashan in the upcoming .96 patch if thats what you mean.

Shijia would be a much better platform for that TBH. More places for the infantry to test large squads effectively as opposed to a map comprised majority of open space.

I was wondering did someone decide that 96 man servers wasn't worth it? i mean less strain on the server then 128.

We appreciate thanks like this :) thanks xambone. the lads in the team have worked so hard, especially the exporters/coders like Leusch and Haute, they are frickin awesome lads.I assume it is legal for a Brit to talk of a German and Frenchman so!

Re 128 GPOs, we sneaked a couple in to the release, however this was only a technicality due to the necesity of a new patch due to steam. Expect more if the tests with the current GPOs result in favourable results ;)

Some devs think 1.0 as final or "semi-final" version that after they can take looong break and move onto the next project. Others think that it will be just another number, am I correct?

By the time PR comes out(standalone, not PR ARMA, can't wait for it :D ) I think COD10 will be out with the same kids just now teens haha.

In all honestly, I don't think this mod will EVER die. As long as content keeps on being released and we are all still dedicated, damn we'll be like a family, some devs will grow old and STILL be producing content, while younger players like myself(going into the Army soon) will be alive and kicking *** > :) Please never retire!


XD I can see it now: "what is this instant load in? Back in my day I had to wait for this to pop up! "Why can't I click to fire anymore, now I actually have to pull a trigger?" haha

Its always a number because even games get patched past v1.0 BF2 in itself is true to that with the v1.5 patch. Heck most games have updates to them the day they are released because somethings are fixed and/or optimized in the time it takes to burn them to discs and ship to stores.

For us, 1.0 will be a number, but for all the players around the world, it will mean something.

in the world of software a "1.0" is always something special.
Even if this is not the case in PR, 1.0 often means "leaving beta/developing status".
Lots of modding or even retail game webites will notice it.
Its going to cause some publicity for this mod.
Im 100% sure PR will blow us away anyway.

I'm quite the opposite... I run PR maxed out with a smooth frame rate all the time and can't even run ArmA II on low with a frame rate above 20.
