Mi-8/17 "gunship" version Helicopter...

So anyway, since the Attack Huey(the Gunship Version of a huey allready in the game) kinda creates a new Heli class:

Gunship/support Heli

So i was thinking if the Marines have gotten one of those is it possible for the other factions to get one, manly a Mi-8/17 with Unguided Rocket pods, why i suggest this ?

Easy, it would ad some new goody's to PR
It would be implemented in the Russian Faction and MEC, that would make the gameplay against Russians or MEC(even the chechens could get one of those maybe ) more interesting

We all know how Baracuda ends with all the Huey spaming xD

Imagine a Mi-17 with Pods just comes out of nowhere and blows everything to bits with over 60 rockets

I know unbalanced, 60+ rockets FTW, maybe add a "Fire only one pod at once" and after its empty it needs to reload itself in other words it takes u ?? seconds to switch to another full pod

Before anyone flames me for Sugesting to "Make" new stuff i am thinking to just manualy add "Created Pods" to the allready modelled DICE Model if its possible.

Well, I can see where you are coming from, but the thing is, the USMC actually uses hueys with rocket pods attached. Putting rocket pods on a transport helicopter is just plain stupid, it would be like having a cobra carry infantry. If the MEC/Russians/Chechens get any helicopter gunship, leave it to a small helicopter, like the current MEC scout helo with the gun pods.

Chucking them on the scout chopper would be cool, would have some good balance too, fast, powerful, yet it cant take much punishment.

and im sure it would be easy to do it and if ea wont allow the devs to edit the mi17 i think usi mod has an mi8 that can be used plus the frog hast rocket pods that can be mounted on it.

I guess it could be used to balance out Barracuda since half the chinese team will camp in the mainbase.

Sounds good,but people won't use it as a transport would they?
Add one with pods and one (regular) without,since most maps have 2 anyway.
Hind is good too - the more variety the better imo.

As for needing one because of the Marines having the attack Huey, who cares about symmetrical balance?

About the "Fire only one pod at once", I say it should be implemented realistically and operate however it would IRL.

I'd go for the one pod at once...but make the reload sort of fast...but make reloading VERY slow...

@Socketman in other pictures the doors were open and I dont think anyone inside would get backblast, but I think you would only want 1-2 seats because people would whine about not getting transport

We in fact class it as a "Light Attack Heli", and we are making more of them, thou the Mi-17 with rockets is kinda a new suggestion

An actual gunship would be better, attaching rockets to a transport helo is kinda stupid IMO. Plus the Mi-8 is slow as hell, that would be a big juciy target for a MANPADS. Better to put the rocket pods on something that is fast and manueverable.

Also, I don't think we should worry about what factions have what. For example:

In Barracuda, the USMC has a gunship. But the Chinese have AA, and the only way for the USMC to get Marines to the island is by helo transport. So even if there is a gunship tossed on the USMC side, the Chinese have balanced that out by countering the USMC's ability to land infantry.

Do not forget that the MI-8/17 With pods can even have crates to drop what an actual MI-24/35 couldn't

So u see:

MI-8/17/RPods = 8 soldiers slots + maybe 1/2 supply crates

Mi-24/35 = 8 soldier slots + 1/2 medium supply box(the one that the APC drops)

So u see the difference

You aren't allowed to edit the model but you can ADD to it, like putting different missiles on a vBF2 jet or a huge steaming £$%& on top of the vBF2 abrahams model.

It isn't too dumb idea as that thing can be used as a counterpart to the Chinook maybe, but for some more aggressive tactics (with limited ammo, as nobody wants to run in front of the full equipped, veteran squad plus wannabe pilot armed with firepower that obviously overcompensates for something)
