Yeah, it is just a quick go to show you what I'm thinking. A lot of stuff would have to be worked on before I'd be happy with it :p . Options pages would be merged into one, with various tabs for the PR parameters/mumble details/widescreen fixer stuff perhaps.

Some other ideas would be greying out buttons if it wasn't installed, like PR Singleplayer, etc.

Settings being saved, since it would be a separate .exe, settings could really be saved however you wish :) .

With the mumble button, if you put in your username and password (which is optional, only for registered users), and follow the link i put down the bottom, it will autologin with those details to the PR mumble server.

'[R-DEV wrote:AncientMan;993148']Here's what I'm thinking for a launcher. The graphics are fairly basic, was more focussed on the code :) . Also, the white bit down the bottom wouldn't be there in the real app.

PR Launcher
(if it doesn't load, just refresh)

Yes, it's not meant to work, it's a clickdummy, meant to show the design ;)

Anyway, as you can see, there's no "news". This is because I feel that there's no point having news in the launcher, when there is a news ticker ingame in the main menu (in the next version of PR anyway). People would spend more of their time in the main menu than the launcher (some might even just not use the launcher), so the news would get to more people in the ingame menu.

A tutorial page/video thing might be interesting, but, it's meant to be a launcher, just a relatively simple program for people to click on a button and the program gets them to where they want to be fast and easy. The wiki link might be easier with the videos linked there?

For things needing to be installed to the default place, that's not needed, that's what the registry is for.

Anywho, that's what I'm thinking. But you don't need to listen to me if you don't want to, I'm just another guy with another opinion :) .

Also, before you start getting in and coding this, just hold off for a bit, I want to talk to a couple of people first about it.

/sidenote to some replys in this thread, splash screen is in the next version ;)

What you could do is have Mumble load (and put you in the PR server) automatically.. and MAYBE some how integrate the mumble window into the main menu.... so before you go into a server you could switch channels... =D

*cough - put TS as one of the options as well - cough* :p

Hehe, looks like it will be a nice little addition, just another bit of making PR another step above vanilla BF2 8)

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

I have another littel nifty app it's called BF2 hitfixer it runns with auto hotkey maby this could be incorperated but I don't know if it will be needed with the new patch coming out but it helps alot with hit detection so maby people might want that as well.
Ill try and find a link to it later
