From CAS to PR

Post by Elektro »

Hey i checked out and played the CAS mod to PR, no doubt there are allot of things they have to work on. But if there is one thing they know how to do its making the experiance in the aircrafts much more realistic, now there are some things that just wouldnt fit in the game and those i wont suggest.

1 : Increas the flares to 60, no offense but i dont see the point in giving an A-10, or other aircrafts the same amount of flares as a little bird doesnt make much sence.

2 : First screen (1) when you want to check the amount of flares you have left, or shoot down an enemy aircraft with out turning its missile warning system on you use, your first weapon screen. I must say its nice that you can zoom in to your target, and the HUD just looks better..

3 : Air to Air missiles, aim - 9 missiles. I liked the locking system more in CAS too. The fact that those little round dots came on the screen instead of the big fat squares, and with out that laser string in the middle of my screen. I would use that any time.

Theise are the 3 things i would like to see be added to the PR fighter jets ( F-16, J-10, MiG - 29, Euro Fighter )

The things you suggested aren't implemented because they're not realistic. In real life, the loadout of the F-16 can hold more than 4 AIM-9s. Although, this would cause the weapon racks to be filled up by AIM9s, and be unable to hold any other type of weapon. Right now, the aircraft have a varied and realistic loadout of weapons......if any improvements need to be made on aircraft, its dynamics.

Ex- when engine off and diving, you lose speed instead of gain it. THAT is some unrealistic stuff right there.

What parts aren´t realistic?

Only one of those things had to do with ammo, and that was the flares. I don´t know where you got the amount of aim-9s from?

Edit. About ammo, I have a couple of kit planes I built ages ago. Not an obvious source of realism there but on the rails for the F-16 for example are 6 mavericks, 2 LGBs and 2 Aim-9s. For a ground based role I assume. On 2 of the hard points it has a triple rail attachment to fit the Mavericks.

Same with the F-15. It has 3 fuel tanks, 4 Aim-9s, 4 I think Sparrow Air to air missiles and 6 either small bombs or air to ground missiles.

But loadouts I imagine can vary big time mission to mission.
