hmmwv Smoke Generator

Post by A-10Warthog »

im going to make a long story short. after seeing how necessary smoke is in PR, why not add a HMMWV with the smoke generator in the bed?

Image

basically is uses 2 jets of white, and black smoke to make a thick grey smoke. and it would be good for tanker squads on the retreat, or even a infantry squad. make the smoke last a few minutes to give time for them to retreat etc. i think it would be good. and its fairly easy to model, if we can borrow the current support truck model.

discuss.

Allot of modeling for an asset with such a small job as to only lay down smoke. Besides most tanks can inject diesel into there engines and create a smoke scree although its not in game atm.

It IS in the game, driver has a right click which deploys smoke and gunner has smoke as well.

As for the suggestion, it is not necessary and I don't feel this is commonly used thing. Prove me wrong by posting proof of it's extensive use.

A technicality Colonelcool, really? Haha you are correct and I am mistaken. What I meant is the same effect is created by deploying the smoke canisters. And yes, I still feel that although it would be fun to make smoke trails across the vast desert of Kashan, it still is, in my opinion, a waste of time and effort which could be dedicated to something more useful, such as fastropes  .

Cool asset. Won't be used properly or effectively. It will be seen as a troop transport.

I am not talking about the smoke grenades tanks usaully have a second smoke screen type by injecting fuel into the exhaust and it makes a cloud behind the tank as you drive in the same fashion the humvee in ops post would see video.

I could be wrong but I have never seen this in game.

smoke generators on tanks were suggested before, afaik its not implemented - it causes a lot of lags, so if somebody make lag free generator, maybe it will be implemented :-)

How's that relevant to the OP?

Was it a reply to this?

If that's the case, you should quote him in your post, and check if it's already been answered.

Hmm perhaps more simply its a humvee that pops smoke like a tank but in a straight line behind the vehicle that could be cool

To further the idea, I think we should also have the Hydration variant of the Hmvee.

Getting water (and perhaps hot meals?) to the troops on the front is an important part of battle so it should be implemented in PR.

Also, medics only should be able to drive the Dental Hmvee.
