British Fast Patrol Boat

Post by JellyBelly »

Instead of the standar RHIB for the UK, would it be possible to implement the 2000TD Hovercraft, as used by the Royal Marines. Would be damn cool to have a couple of these storming towards a dock, packed with Marines.

America was a tad late into the First World War. They redeemed themself's and came in slightly sooner in the Second. Now they seem determined to start the Third.

For maritime and riverine patrol craft? Don't think so. ;)

The Royal Marines Landing Craft Air Cushion Light isn't that large, as hovercraft go. It's only about 12 meters (39 feet) long. It looks smaller than the old US Patrol Air Cushion Vehicles (PACVs) that operated in Vietnam. It can carry two rifle sections, though.

The UK has been using the Rigid Raider series (also used by the USMC, but were to be phased out by the Small Unit Riverine Craft) and Combat Support Boat for riverine operations. Neither have weapons mounts, though, just what the passengers can carry.

Thank god. Someone read my mind. I have wanted the Royal Marine Hovecraft to be in PR for along time.
I do not care how hard it is to implament, i would very very much like it.

I AM IN FULL SUPPORT OF THE ROYAL MARINES HOVERCRAFT

I also love the idea of quad bikes and motorbikes. These only being given on large, open maps.
And as PR gameplay improves i am sure, people will not fight over them but make a tactical and agreed desision as to how to use them most effectively.

But PR1 will be idiot proof - FACT (not).
PR needs a system where once you a given permission you are aloud to take out a memebr of your team. This requires a simple reason to be fillled out that is then displayed to your whole team. If they all vote yes then any teammemebr is allowed to stop the person and face no penalties.
Far more interesting than kicking and they are given another chance after a long respwn time.

British should have motorbikes because the Americans are getting ATV's.

A good choice for small force maps (Signal Corps, SBS or similar)

Who's getting the ATV anyway? Some special operations force?

I think PR 1.0 should be invitation only. You can only download it after passing a test set by the team to ensure you're not a retard. Or, just put the link on the page of the website that tells you how to play Xtract because it would seem 99% of players don't look at that.
