Merlin, Blackhawk Where are you?

I would like to see some more maps using more air assets. I'm not too bothered about the jets, or the attack helos, but I would like to see the blackhawk and especially the Merlin get used more. Flying the Huey is good, but it does not compare to the power of the blackhawk, circling an enemy squad whilst someone is on miningun is always fun, I have to play kashan or ramiel to get a chance to fly it.
The merlin on the other hand is just fun to fly, but if i want to get a chance to use it i have to play quinling and who the hell plays that map...ever.

Seriously we need some more air asset maps.

i don't lag with the merlin. throw it in for the lulz, and let those who do not lag fly it. it's a sexy looking helicopter.

Some of my fondest memories of PR were on Ghost Train in 0.7, where we used to pile people into the merlin and we'd all be standing inside it firing down onto the flags with the back ramp down, with nobody actually sitting in the seats themselves.....awaaaaaww I miss those days!

you mean symetricaly balanced maps? PR is trying to move away from that. dont get me wrong i love qinling and kashan, but we will probably see less maps like that in the future.

Yeah heres low priority idea. On Basrah have some static merlins, so you see em but they are not crewable etc.

The requirements for an engaging large-scale asset map are very very different from an infantry or combined-forces map. The BF1942 map "Battle of Britain" shows just how hard that balance is to get, and how server settings can make a MASSIVE difference to how the game goes.

Asset vs Asset maps are ok; IF they are built and briefed to be non-infantry maps. If everyone knows "hey, it's an air-map, everyone get into planes and dogfight!" or "hey, tanks for everyone, don't get stuck on foot!" then that's dandy.

Of course, getting stuck on foot for these maps because of spawn-times, etc etc bites. And, some people play PR solely to be a ground-pounder, not a pilot/driver.

I like the Blackhawk better, Cause it has defenses for AA Rockets and infantry, On the otherside, Merlin is nice, because it flies a bit faster from my observations.

Love the lynx. Fast and agile, once you're off the ground pretty much nothing but AA missiles can down you.

Well apparently its causes the 'Merlin Lag' however after removing it people still have the issue. So I see no reason for putting it back in.

I still lag in the Merlin. Miss flying it, because it was as easy to fly as the Blackhawk in vanilla

I agree. Too many assets are going unused.

Battle for Qinling is one of the most fun PR maps, why do servers not play it? It's got everything for everyone.
