i think there should be a class that you can get off the crates that has the M-4A1 rifle thats restricted to 2 or 3 people

At close range (and by close, I don't mean point-blank) I've had easy shots I could put 3 bullseyes on with single in rapid succession, but 2 of the three have been pulled off the target by recoil. I shouldn't have the drop on a target, give time for the deviation to settle, plant the crosshairs low enough that the recoil will have room for the later shots to hit, and then miss with two of the three shots. That happens frequently.
Same here.

Also, it's unrealistic to "cope" with a poor TRB by "aiming at their legs." IRL US soldiers aren't taught to aim for the legs so that the gun's recoil works properly...
Again, agreed. Whats the point of aiming and not just randomly firing in the general direction if you're always going to a certain degree? I often find myself suffering without full auto in CQB with misses. At such close ranges I find myself wondering how any real solider prone or crouched is going to miss that much.

Sigh

M4A1's are only allocated to spec ops.

PR does not have Spec ops, because it encourages rambo/lone wolf tactics.

PR is about TEAMPLAY, therefore I disagree with your statement.

the m4a1 I remember from previous versions wasn't that good anyway performance wise, rate of fire meant you would be reloading alot unless you used semi.

The big problem is in short range combat as it has been since 0.7. It was my opinion that the combat should have been scaled to the half real life ranges - that 3 MOA at 100m would be increased to 6 MOA ingame and maximum deviation decreased to hitting a soldier's torso with every shot even with a 7.62 NATO weapon on full auto at 3-5 metres going from 0.8 to 0.85. The reverse happened in 0.85 - for better for worse.

I can live with the long range accuracy as it is now (even if soldiers are extremely lethal ingame - much much more so than in recorded warfare), but the short range combat with maximum deviation is still a huge issue imo. It's 'worse' than vanilla BF2 - that should be reason enough to bring maximum deviation way way down to a much tighter circle
