TKing/Raping on Training Servers, esp. Kashan

Hey Guys!

Although I searched the forum and found nothing comparable, feel free to link anywhere if this is obsolete stuff...

Let's come to the point:

As I have seen so much useless raping and tking on Kashan training servers, I would love to see some punishment system in place, just like the insurgents have when destroying their own cache, I think: Immediate kill and long respawn time. That system might be useful in different maps, too, but as far as I know especially Kashan Training is extremely unbalanced and therefore prone to that issue.

Of course, one needs to add, that it is a training server and people are going there to train, obviously. But still it is annoying how often...

- someone just releases a bomb while still parked or hovering above (Harrier, don't we love it) jet training facilities, thus even destroying the runways (+$#§%!&, that needed to be said)
- some jet or helicopter bombs or shoots at infantry training
- someone drops enormous weapons at <insert training location where people are not expected to get blown up (all except bombing range, that is)>
- some AA gets close to any of the air training facilities and shoots starting/landing/taxiing air vehicles

Therefore, I would like to see a measure in place that just kills someone dropping a bomb or shooting on an area where it is not intented. I mean, there is a lot of free space in the maps and that is cool, but it's just a pain to see infantry training getting abused every 2 minutes, ruining the training for both parties.

For the movement of AA vehicles etc. one would need smaller combat zones, or something like that.

Yes, you can, Rudd. You just need to be a bit more creative than simply using "friendly fire". C4ing friendlies into the air, making them fall to their doom, is one example of TKing. As well as bombs (which also kill, iirc), moving vehicles, and head-on collisions.

something i would see alot is someone taking the harrier and hovering over the airfield and dropping its bombs. it would kill everything. for some reason you can shoot someone and it wont tk, but the bombs will.

Hmm. noticing the same trend among people in training servers... The TK bomb drop could be eliminated if the jets had no ability to drop the bombs within the airfield perimiter... kind of like how you cannot vehicle drop on a runway in vBF2 but I am talking the whole thing- I do not know if that would make it impossible for the enemy to bomb it also though.. Another solution to this would be to make the bombs completely unusable untill the jet has reached XXX airspeed and xxx altitude. That way while still at the runway, one could not drop.

It sux *** when someone does that... they usually are just retorting to someone elses asshatedness, and you end up a casualty. The people who do that shouldn't be able to play PR, it really does not promote teamwork, at alll... Usually it just runs off the new people actually trying to train/learn. IRL some newer jets have an automated system that calculates whether or not the pilot/aircraft is in danger from dropping its armorment. The system will not drop the bombs/fire missles if the landing gear is out, nor if the jet is not going at an "attack" speed. WAIT!!!! I just said it... can't drop bombs if landing gear is out! ah hah!!! Or add the warm up time just like the tank turret. That would certainly needs to be longer than it takes to warm up and take off... only bad thing i see to that is poeple will just wait it out.

Well as long as most of them doesn't enter the real servers.
But maybe there could be implemented some kind of singleplayer training, in a future release?

Just create a local server. Training maps are for just that training. I realize that sometimes its fun to mess around on them with friends, but if your messing around then smacktardery probably wont bother you. Better yet, just go to an empty server.

Best solution to this problem is to take a screen shot or vid of the offenders and notify the server admin. Its great training for the tk'ers, they learn that stupid behavior in PR results in a ban.

Edit - of course i wouldn't consider a heli or jet killing infantry as a problem, not unless its a server rule.

the battleforce one has the 3 TKs (punished of course) and you get banned for a couple hours. The main thing is lack of admins. If you could get an admin on one of the servers or within easy reach, the problem makers would go away. Unfortunately that's what you have to deal with on the training servers. Sometimes making it out with a chopper intact is a miracle.

Just because there is no admin on the server doesn't mean you need to live with the tk'ers. PM them over these forums, join their own forums, get on their team speak. etc.

could possibly way to make runways invincible to weapons in training, seems that be the only problem I face when I try to fly and its too late before you realize that the runway has a crater in it.
