They woudnt have used C4 on a mine,C4 is too powerfull to that.
What im asking about is kind of a C4,just not that powerfull or a metall pipe.

C4 can actually be used to "counter-blast" a big IED. In cases of big artillery rounds of huge IEDs that would make alot of collateral damage, c4 strategically placed can counter-blast most of the explosion.

That's EOD 101.

This could be easily implemented into the game, making the EOD C4 reduce the blast of say an artillery IED or mine. Destroying Blockade or building with little collateral damage.

OF course if the NME traps a bridge you're pretty much done anyways, unless you manage to clear the area and get to de-mining.

I still say combat engineers should be the only ones able to destroy mines and gernade traps as they are generally the only ones besides Special Forces type soldiers who have the skills and training to do so.

The current grenade trap model used ingame is either A: a piece of wire holding the spoon down, When you walk into the wire it pulls free and the spoon pops off the grenade, or B: its the spoon being held down by the can and the wire tips the can over and it spills out.

Myself or yourself could either for A: Cut the wire thus rather then it pulling out it serves as a pin and effectively makes it 'safe' or for B: Cut the wire and place a metal object or pin in the grenade ourselves before removing them from the can or simply seal the grenade in the can with tape, rendering it rather useless.

Grenade traps are improvised traps, While neither of these are what you'd call the 'safest' they all are reasonably doable in a combat situation. I hardly think a grenade trap is unstoppable to any armed forces. A grenade or any explosive throw on it would also set it off.

Well was reading telegraph online and they had some front line story of some ied layers were spotted by UAV, F16s bombed the place and then a group of british soldiers and 2 USMC mine clearence experts went to clear it. The person who digged for the mine wasnt one of the mine experts it was actually one of the soldiers, a high ranking soldier but none the less not a specialist.

I am afraid it is not that simple. As Gernade Traps are not put in the open but setup in hidden spots usually in doorways where only the thin piece of wire is visable at foot level. So how would a soldier know what the device was and how to disarm it? A Combat Engineer knows all devices and mechanisms that can set it off and knows exactly how to deal with it and further more has the tools to do so.

Secondly in a warzone, last thing you would want to do is just toss a gernade at it. You might as well fire up a flare and scream to the enemy "here I am". Combat Engineers can disarm all devices quietly and safely.

Well I for one almost ever die to these tripe grenades because I look where I am going, not running around like I'm 15 and don't think I can be killed.

I liked the shut gun slug killing land mines and tripe grenades this way we would not have to waste time skinning a model etc that would serve the same as the shotgun great idea mate.

Oh and a grenade killing a land mine is not stupid they do it in real life all the time bud.
