What would you ask the DEVs about the DEVs?

Post by Masaq »

Now, imagine the scenario... you come home one night, and there's a PR Developer sat on your sofa in the living room, drinking a cup of tea and munching on a cookie.

Before you call the cops and have him locked up for breaking and entering (oh, and the theft of a cookie too) - what would you ask him?

Your question can either relate to an element of Project Reality, or 'real life'. You could ask what they like most about PR or their gaming history, or their hobbies and interests or their favourite TV show.

In short - anything you'd like to ask! Be imaginative, think of questions that no-one else has asked, think of things that you'd genuinely like to know the answer to.

Some of the questions submitted here may be incorporated into a little project the team are thinking of running... ;)

EDIT: My bad, didn't make it clear enough -
But yeah, questions that are about the Devs not the modification itself is what's being looked for... It can be "What do you do in the PR team?" or "What would you like to see in PR in the future?" but not "Why isn't XYZ in game?"

First question would have to be why?

Why spend all the months and years on something for free, what made you think of doing it in the first place, and what keeps you going?

I know the reasons why I already do a lot of stuff for free, would like to know their reasons for doing it too...

When is .9 coming out?

JOKE! Don't hurt me!

My question would be, why pursue a free project like this at great personal cost in terms of finances and time rather than being employed in a games company, most of the members of the team seem to have the skills for it.

What happened to all rewards from the MOTY 2008 ? How are they helping the developtment of PR ?

There are DEVs from all the world, has some DEV already met other dev from other country ?

Is eggman still working in PR ? And what happened with the PR founder ?

Will mumble be fully or better integred with PR ?

Is there a new faction almost done to make to 0.9 ?

Have you ever shot someone / been shot by someone ?

Why so many jokes about Rhino and his sexuality ?

Did any game company ever made contact with the PR DEV team ?

Why are you so awesome ?

Tell me all your experiences with games (both PC and console games). (that is not a question, it is a demand)

My first question would have to be: "Hah, so you only found the plain digestives then?" :p

Joking aside - I'd ask : "What when and where was your first experience of PC gaming?" - just for the contrasting experiences of the Devs like eggy who played real pong using dinosaur skulls, and those like myself who started gaming on 386 and 486-era PCs ;)

Mine would be, how important is realism to you, with regards to team play.

I'd ask if you have any daughters, and if yes, are they available?

Q: Do you still enjoy playing your own mod or have you somehow "grown tired of it"? If not, how often do you play it?

Q: If EA would offer to buy PR and hire the whole DEV-team (for alot of $,€,£), what would be your answer? :)

All the best,

Q: With AmmA2 on the way. Do you feel that it might just take a few PR players away on release. Meaning, How much longer do you think you can keep pushing BF2 Engine to keep up with what you and the players want before it is truly surpassed by something new?

Why the big shroud of secrecy around everything that the PR team does? I mean, the minute that someone becomes an R-CON, they sign an NDA that is punishable by death upon breaking. Why not let the community know what direction you are taking the mod in?

Besides hookers and blow, do you devs ever send each other gifts IRL?

First I'll ask him if he wants a beer, a drink, or anything.

Q: Have you ever been thinking of what's gonna happen to PR in the future?

Q: Do you love the game as much as I do, despite developing and testing it all the time?

Remember to break into my house in a weekend, then we can go out and I can really pump secret info out of you, after an all-nighter and a long morning party, it's [R-DEV]GoreZiad

NDAs are in place so that the community does not get confused. When the devs get their story straight, they release corresponding information, in order to keep the public face of PR respectable, and so that unplanned things don't get announced.

but for my question, I would ask how is it like to see people play with your work?

Why the fu*k are you in my house?
jk
I would ask about what direction is the mod going. Do you plan on sacrificing realism for team play? Or vise-versa. How long do you plan on working on the mod?

Don't ask Katarn about Fallout, or for that matter Far Cry 2, trust me you will never have those six hours back. Ever.
