before you move this post, can i strongly suggest that u remove the 25 min post limit to suggest something.
My suggestion is to create a digital battlefield mode for project reality. As you know, the battlefield is becoming more sophisticated as we speak, with war becoming more of a matter of computer programming than actual "spray & pray".
I propose a digital battlefield mode that can be enabled or disabled at the preference of each server. The digital battlefield mode (from now on DBM) will entail the following things:
-Return of the minimap.
*unlike the old bf2 minimap, the map would only show friendlies within about 200 meters of the soldier. Enemies would not appear, unless spotted by commander, officer, sniper or any other kit you guys want to put in there.
* The minimap would be more like a GPS unit than a enemy/friendly locator, thus it would take about 3 seconds to update, simulating satellite delay.
-Limited UAV support. The UAV would have a scan time of about 5 min, could only be requested every 30 min, and would only show enemy's that are not in bunkers or buildings (a.k.a could be seen by real UAV).
-Failure mode.
*If the soldier was critically wounded, the minimap would not work. This simulates the inability to read it when wounded.
*If the unit was hit by enemy fire, the minimap screen would fizzle out on the players screen.
This would be server optional and be realistic, as the minimap would work almost exclusively as a GPS unit. UAV's are used for almost every battler in Afghanistan thus far.
Take my idea seriously - it's time to join the 21'st century, digital battlefield!

Re: future combat systems mode
This is a perfect example for the 25post limit...
If its not being used in the field by the grunts, it doesn't get in to the mod, UAVs are clearly used, but on a 2km^2 map its not great, and implementing it is difficult. Commander bf2 vision cannot be used in a realistic UAV way either. UAV scans will never get back in to the mod.
the Future Combat System is not implemented, and in fact too a hit in the lasted US military budget. My suggestion is to create a digital battlefield mode for project reality. Resuggestion. not gonna happen yet.Return of the minimap.

You want the vBF2 scan mechanic back?! even without dudes who are 'inside' thats just bad.-Limited UAV support. The UAV would have a scan time of about 5 min, could only be requested every 30 min, and would only show enemy's that are not in bunkers or buildings (a.k.a could be seen by real UAV).

Re: future combat systems mode
Ahhh, there it is! I thought I smelled some Future Weapons around here!
No such system is widely available today anywhere. This is Project Reality, and the factions represented are designed to represent the average group of a country or faction's armed forces. The Devs don't have time to develop a magical digital system.
The 25 post limit is to keep bad suggestions and re-suggestions out of the suggestions forum. The idea is that after 25 posts, a person has seen enough of the forum to get a proper idea of the direction of where PR is going, what has already been considered, and that Fastropes are hard-coded.

Those two post sum it up right there. A search for any of your suggestions would have show you past discussions about these very things.
Like it or not your have reinforced the reason we started the 25 post count for new members.

First of all, welcome to the forums!
The other members pretty much summed it up as to the 25 post minimum.
Thus locked.
