vBF2...lol - Thanks for PR.

Post by battle6 »

I jumped on a vBF2 server today for the first time in 2 years.

I just want to thank the Dev's, because PR is amazing.

I was cured pretty fast.
So a big Thank You to all PR Developers, the game simply rocks.

I Jump on vBF2 once every few months with friends, it's admittedly fun but I dread to think if I was still playing that if I hadn't discovered PR.

You know Smeg, I don't really know how you find it fun. I just get really frustrated really fast. If I want that kind of insane fast action I go for DoD Source orange_arena_nrg.

Good old DODS. Nade spam plus gore mod is amazing. But vBF2 is just so... schmeh.

This is so true!!

I allso have these rare temp-insanety moments where i think to myself that jumping on a vBF2 server sounds like a good idea.
Then i load up maybe Dalian Plant or Karkand or something else rubish...
Suddenly i find myself sorounded by people running around with nades or medbags in there hands spamming the spotting system and bunnyjumping like there´s no tommorow...!!

And all this happes in the 40 first seconds before the 1337-J-10 comes soring down on me,guns blazing, and pwning me while the medbag, bunnyjumping, nadespamming, attention deficit disorder kid is running around in sircles around himself spamming the spotting system.

I then simply press Esc and conviniently load up PR from the community tab in the menu and while i load up Muttrah City i suddenly feel inner peace and that the universe is getting back in ballance again.

Millions of thanks to every single person who have made this game possible and saving me from the raving mad hordes of retardet, narrowminded and pointless vBF2 players :D

I love you <3

I played vanilla the the other day and found myself trying to deploy LMG's, wait for deviation to settle, heal people after reviving them etc... lol

for the bf2 type experience I'd always go for 2142 rather than bf2 itself, better optimised etc

I Jump on every now and then just to get called a hack when I get the F-35B. I Just find it so funny to see some 3*** Gen player get owned by me when he has the J-10 and me in the F-35B and then see him spaming "Oddsodz has no lock hack. Ban him he is cheating" lolol

Agreed, I don't own a copy of 2142 but from playing online with my mates account I definitely prefer it over vBF2.

Seems to have a better balance of assets and titan mode makes it more interesting. The gunships, walkers and hover tanks for example are very cool.

BF2 for me any day of the week, 2142 is just too slow and everywhere seems so empty.

Most people seem to find it impossible to combine the fast reflexes, nadespamming and unrealistic nature of vBF2 with PR, but for me it's no problem really, I still like both.

I really like PR as well...so much so that just saying "thank you" wasn't enough for me. Imagine having to go out and BUY PR, and then signing a service contract promising to mimic the kind of "customer support" for PR that we get here in the forums - Sheesh! I don't think one months salary could cover it! :-?

I know that many of these mods/devs have regular jobs with regular lives, with regular wives and children also demanding their attention, attention that is often deviated to fulfill obligations here as well. So, I did what I thought would make me feel really good AND demonstrate my appreciation  - I made a small, modest donation.

Obviously I'm speaking for myself, but if you feel real good about PR and are able to do it, try a small contribution! It works!!!!

All my best,
Roland

Amen to SgtDad's post... me too. PR is worth much more to me than what I paid for vBF2. Thank you as well to the PR development community for continuing to make such an excellent product. PR is what I had always wanted vBF2 to be.

VBF2 is like clownshoes compared to PR. Parajump out of black hawk to countersnipe in glide the sniper on the roof with your SRAW anyone ?

Is it just be or where you heartcrushingly disappointed with DoD:Source? I loved Dod so much and was really looking forward to the game having more depth along with the nice graphics and the OMFGZZZ it haz phyiziks 3ngine! factor, but they made it totally rubbish and arcadey. Wasn't THE most realistic game in the first place but it was pretty much updated to be counterstrike source based in WW2...

The vanilla thing is pretty funny though, I used to think vanilla was going to be the most teamwork intensive thing ever when I bought it and kinda thought it was when I first started, got bored of vanilla so quick after playing PR though.

BF2 ???? No thanks...

The only good of BF2 (for me) is the graphic engine on which it was possible to develop PR

PR rocks......

Kinda embarrasing to say, but i never thought of it that way. i have always been just playing the game, and not giving that part any thoughts. but ill reconsider that now, and also give a small donation every now and then. cant give that much, but something is better then nothing, right?

Slow? Players zoom around the map in personal rocket pods, dropships and jeeps with boosters...

Empty? You've obviously never played on a reasonably populated server on maps like Gibraltar.
