Some servers dont allow Autohotkeys (just so you know)

Shift cannot be assigned ingame options, need to edit in the configs directly. Its stupid bug in BF2. I think ctrl is the same.

Go to C:\Users\name\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\ then select the user you want to change. then open the controls.con with notepad and if you find any LShifts then delete them and then go back in game and you'll be able to assign it. It's a BF2 bug, i get it sometimes when i'm doing joystick controls

i came up with similar and just adjusted my keys in vanilla, it applied in pr

Cpl Small is right, the key is the Control.con file which you can edit with note pad. Find the key you want to assign and erase the entry for it, new entry will be written in when you assign it in game. I've completely remapped my keyboard including keys like home, end, del, pgup pgdn...
