I agree... I think most players would LIKE to learn how to play correctly. Most people are never exposed to the level of coordination and skill that this game requires. I mean come on... this game was a love/hate relationship when I first started playing because I didnt KNOW how to act in a firefight and I would die semi instantly. I think a slightly more in depth training map with actual courses that include rooms WITH TARGETS that you and your squad can clear would be helpful. Or maybe somehow make the entire training mode more teamwork orientaded instead of just for teach vannillas how to not flip choppers! If something could be worked out by a group (IE: Tactical Gamer) to throw on a weekly training session with real content to teach new players about infantry work, convoys, how to effectively communicate I think we would see teamwork improve across the board!

I know that for a while after the insurgency series started at TG I noticed a lot of people in pubs were playing as a team much better and there were new SLs that were showing some promise and were definately on the right track. I think the entire community could benifit from some sort of open training event thats properly admined and taught in an organized manner.

Well I for one would like to sign up for this as I have only just joined up. I only recently discovered PR and feel that I could really use some training in the aspects of teamwork, particualry after trying the training myself and reading through the manual. Plus one of the main reasons I stopped playing BF2 was due to the lack of teamwork, it was a real shame...

If anyone wants to show me the ropes just let me know.

PS: Yes I do have a mic.

Imasbah we in [T&T] wanted to do a training event just like yours in the very near future. I dont know if your part of a clan with a server or anything but you might think of doing it together with us. That way we provide the server and we got 3 instructors. Sadist_Cain (top notch realistic Squadleader), you, and me (I wanted to cover piloting beyond the: hey I can fly).

I asked Cain if he wanted to contact you with some more details and all but this way you can think about it :) We just wanted to do an evening of training and cover a few subjects to help the new players and maybe some seasoned ones as well.

Do what Fuzzhead has always done. Take your guys aside, drill them in certain tactics, introduce them to the world of organized squad play. After about 40 minutes you should have a decent group at least. With the right people its just... epic.

yeah thank you i would love to be a part of it as the problem in the main servers isnt getting any better i even saw bunny hopping yesterday well trying to before i shot him directly in the head lol well yeh im 100% up for it. just let me know the details. and no i am not a part of any clan.

i am a decent not the best sl lol but at least i know most of the things you need to play pr succesfully i thin if we have three of us and for example you said you will cover flying which i hate btw lol and if me and cain cover infantry/firebase building etc maybe after we have trained our guys up we can practice on eachother? just a suggestion well any way i will await your reply.

yo Dude!, get yourself an account on Tactics & Teamwork :: "Like Minded Gamers"

We have a password locked training server, the plan is (hopefully and eventually) to make some CUSTOM (ohh yes :P ) PR training maps, we'll begin with what we've got.

We'll have a training briefing thread which the "lessons" briefed and covered within that thread along with the password.
The general Idea *should* go summin like this...

*Chopper extraction and Squad Evasion*

Tonights training will be covering Piloting and squadleading with air transport.

Pilots will be shown how to fly safely through hot zones to avoid AA, choosing safe landing zones and proper distribution of crates. tuition on Group piloting and hot zone extractions for pinned down squads.

Ground teams will be shown how to behave when boarding a chopper and disembarking. How to secure a LZ for a chopper prior to extraction, Providing covering fire for a chopper being engaged.
Once dropped by a Helo squads will also be tought the basics of extraction, evasion and falling back to a Safe zone whilest covering the rear.
Squads will be taught the basics of movement through hostile terrain and how to call in an extraction for maximum effectiveness.

Training server will be open with instructors at **:**Hrs and training WILL actively begin at **:**Hrs and the password tonight will be *****

That's the general plan :D

We already run the community events server which has proven hugely successful. we're testing the idea to make more use of the training server, hopefully we will soon have PR messages leading Newbies directly to the Training forum and more experienced players where they can recieve advanced training.
Should be covering basics for newbs and more advanced methods following basic training or for those PR players who just want to refine their tactics.

The hope is to have a well established Training System for the whole community whereby we can have a team of instructors (TTI - Tactics & Teamwork Instructor) available for weekly sessions on EVERY aspect of gameplay, right from where to stand when moving as a squad right up to how to coordinate multiple squads with bounding attacks.

I DONT wanna use the word strict, However these sessions will be tightly controlled. Most of it will take place without firing a single shot and just getting proper tactics in peoples heads instead of just running around shooting and dying. I.E. choppers wont be shot down, merely locked on to indicate "dead"

Live firing training will take place also.

This shizzle is going to be the real deal, no messing about, we'll be on mumble and the Students will be expected to gather within a briefing room in game before to run through what the session will entail beforehand.

the main goal will probably be discipline, not being totally anal and boring but simpley engaging targets and performing actions with speed , accuracy and ruthless efficiency.

You seem enthusiastic! so we'd really like to put you to good use in an environment where you can make a difference, which will be this new training scheme

**** THOSE INTERESTED IN COMING TO ONE OF THESE TRAINING SESSIONS PLEASE EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST HERE>>> Lost redirect ANYONE WHO FEELS EXPERIENCED ENOUGH TO GIVE TUITION IN THESE SESSIONS IS WELCOME! THERE'LL BE A MAX OF 8 INSTRUCTORS (4 PER SIDE) HOWEVER SMALLER CLASSES WILL BE BETTER, TRAINING SPOTS WILL BE LIMITED SO APPLY FAST!

I think its because you cant link to a thread in a hidden forum. so try this one and find the thread in the PR section once you registered. Tactics & Teamwork Forums - Powered by vBulletin

I'm up for some training as I am only new to PR and would like to know the in & outs of the way you guys like to play.
I dropped out of the gaming world for a bit as I could not find a game like Ghost recon which I played with tactical gamers for some time. But after reading the lasted PC gamer about PR it sounds like the type of game I have been looking for.As its the way we played Ghost recon with the gang from tactical gamers (keeping it as real as you can).

I still have a crashing problem I need to sort out then I will be up for some training.
bye the way my first post so hello to all

thx

Hello!
I started playing PR a couple of week ago, have no vBF2 experience (is it good or bad?) and I want to be a useful one on a battlefield. So I'm up for it.

Also good to hear! I'd say its better to not have any vBF2 experience. That way you dont use any of the tactics and tricks from vBF2

I would like to get some training in PR. I'm also an ex-ghost recon player, also played ArmA but I think I prefer PR... so some basic rifle training (can't seem to hit anything regularly) and some PR-specific tactics training would be nice.

Thanks
