I believe the mod was Conflict 2142 not 100% sure tho.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:DICE naturally do not like there content from there games being used in other games, even if they own that other game. One mod which will remain nameless, (mainly because I can't remember its name) a while back though it would be a smart idea to port Strike at Karkand and all its statics over to 2142 for there mod, and have 2142 vehicles etc running round it. DICE got a little upset about this and warned them if they did not revert this and get rid of all download links of that mod version with S@K in etc, they would take legal action, luckily for them they did.
Then there is the issue of PR stuff being used for other purposes thou we are much more generous on that front, providing we are asked first.

too many variables at that distance tbh.redman0123 wrote:Welcome to the wonders of math and physics my friend![]()
1) Kit models don't render from afar, so selective sniping is only feasible if you are relatively close to the target, which is both heavily discouraged and often a death wish.K3V1N=US= wrote:I say sniping will be pwnzor in 0.86 because snipers now have a definate purpose no need for all the funky stuff you guys want like on the fly zeroing.. just take our the medic and then the SL and watch teh rest of teh squad scramble in fear of you as they can't do anything..
How about Closing this?

lets see some maths showing that a .22 could penetrate a body at a mile.redman0123 wrote:Welcome to the wonders of math and physics my friend![]()
lol, what if you'd have to shoot it with such an angle that it'd hit your shoulder with natural fall speed and just leave a small bruise ;Predman0123 wrote:Hard to imagine a .22 round bouncing off your skin like youre the hulk, and to think otherwise would be retarded and is a perfect example of darwins theory IMO.

I don't understand why people are so in love with PR's current system? Logically, 2142 is a better system.
For those who are saying people would stop playing PR if the DEV team moved to 2142. Seriously, people can't pay another 20 dollars??? In fact, if you buy the game used, it'b be like 10 dollars, which is how much i got BF2 for to play PR.
Modern games take millions of dollars and many months to make. So you think your mere 20 dollars (or the sum of the PR community pitching 20 dollars each) and a small team of PR DEVs can make a game engine and ship a game that is even marginally CLOSE to the standards of current vanilla BF2? (Not to doubt/underestimate the DEV team or anyone's abilities or anything). The truth is that such a feat is very unlikely!{UK}Suzeran wrote:are you missing the point like rhino said its dangerous ground,
if the hard pushed devs want to move to 2142 no PR adds or mods etc apart from com plus devs will have to look in over the BF2 PR, cus they will be workin if they want on new engined PR
-so say goodbye to any updates on PR apart from smalll one for like 12 months
-by which time PR is dead
-no one comes back to PR 2142 and it takes another 4 years to make what was lost and ppl are sayin " oo but 2142 is so rubbish engine wee need realistic bladder control"
-if it is a CASE OF $20 id rather give that $20 to akll the god damned devs who have believed in this shit so they can be $$PAID$$ to make there own game which they may as well cus PR hasnt needed a distributor
mate from what i see they ( snipers and marksmen ) take just 1 shot to drop u down , and at 600 - 700 ? u wont have a chance to regret if he sees u . and yes i ve made 700 meters shot with the enfield in archer ( kill the guy in 1 shotredman0123 wrote:I dont actually have proof jesus...
My point wasnt that a .22 round can kill you at a long distance NOT THAT YOU CAN HIT TARGETS WITH A .22 RIFLE AT THAT DISTANCE. Hard to imagine a .22 round bouncing off your skin like youre the hulk, and to think otherwise would be retarded and is a perfect example of darwins theory IMO. Why are we even talking about this? This wasnt even my original point at all anyways.
Sniper rifles and marksman kits usually take like 2 hits in the torso at ~600m just to put a player into wounded status. I believe it should be just 1 round to the torso to wound a player.
I don't care what you did. The guys you shot could have been wounded already... you could have head shotted them because you jerked your mouse and screwed up (or fluked out) and messed up the deviation.mate from what i see they ( snipers and marksmen ) take just 1 shot to drop u down , and at 600 - 700 ? u wont have a chance to regret if he sees u . and yes i ve made 700 meters shot with the enfield in archer ( kill the guy in 1 shot ) . but 1 thing i hope the dev could change is give our's insurgent sniper kits more ammo pls ,cuz we dont have supply boxes like them and all the time the caches would be under attacked very soon so there is not a lot of change we could make it to the cache to rearm . and 1 more thing pls make atleast 1 in everymap on insurgent side pls , y ? because of the value of sniping role , manytimes after killing the humvee's gunner with the sniper they immediately stop shooting and start taking cover , sometimes they all run away . i know it s the wost sniper kit and i dont ask u to change anything just pls pls dev ..... i am begging u . i fall in love with the enfield though
sorry 4 my english
Except in a game it just doesn´t work. You don´t wait 6 seconds in real life, you may not be accurate first shot but you can feel when you can shoot and actually you can shoot alot better than in game currently. Am I supposed to be an untrained soldier who in combat can´t shoot at all? The reason for not every shot being a head shot is:NoxNoctum wrote:

Not worth it.
The community size right now is great, but imagine if we lost even just a third of it with the transition. WAY more people have BF2 than 2142.
Besides...

2142 may be slightly better than this one, but there are tons of engines hundreds of times better than both of them.
I think the Dev's would stand a fair chance of getting publishers and such to make their own game.
They made a mod that completely transformed a game into something new, and now it's one of the most popular mods ever.
They're paying people to make games like Stalin VS Martians, ten million racing games, Hannah Montana and barbie games.
Why would they not want to make a game based on a concept that has already proven to be successful and popular despite limitations and shortcomings?
I think, clearly, you guys need to read what Rhino said about the 2142 engine. You think hardcoding causes problems in BF2? Imagine not being able to fly higher than about 300 meters. . .Zynk wrote:man, the whole argument revolves around:

instead of looking at this in the sense of :"****! the citizens of our forums want us to move to 2142 NAO!!"
think of it like this: "hey, we run the site, we give them a cool mod for FREE. if they're giving us a suggestion to check out this engine since we already see what it can do, maybe we can fit into our freetime and slowly transition into it as we finish up 1.0?.."
i don't see why people are freaking out over this year-old youtube video. yes, it definately shows PR the potential to be more flexible, but the devs have lives too. let them test the water when they feel like it.
