Update on PRMM 0.31 status and BF2 1.3

Hey Folks,

We're working on a PRMM 0.31 patch to address some minor issues with BF2 1.3 as well as add in some tweaks from the PRMM 0.30 release.

It will go into testing late today, but we need to do pretty extensive testing as we don't plan to release another PRMM update until 0.4 (which will be uber btw).

I expect we'll post a readme as soon as this release is finalised and should have it out uh.. well... no promises... but we hope before the weekend.

PRMM 0.31 will be a patch and will require BF2 1.3 and PRMM 0.30 installed first. The patch will actually be fairly hefty... I'm guessing about 200mb as we've mode some changes to a couple of the maps to address some bugs and gameplay issues.

We will probably update a full installer for 0.31, but that will not happen right away.

more or less, what size will it be? 2mb? 20mb? 50?

i have bf2 1.2 and prmm 0.3. i install first prmm 0.31 or bf2 1.3? or the order doesn't make any difference?

200mb holy moses haha, i was expecting something like 2, 3mb
'kay then, the mod reached almost 1gb! i think it is not a MINI-mod anymore!

No, not really. Because the mod includes completely new maps it's so large, and the patch can't just edit existing maps, it has to add them again completely. The whole thing would probably be less than 800mb if it didn't include the repeated maps from the main mod in the patch.

But yeah, what physical changes can we expect? I'm almost certain Rhino's perfected Muttrah City will be in there, but can we get excited over new maps/models? I imagine the 8 second grenade throw will be reduced and hopefully the exploit is ironed out too, even though I love using that. The new look SLAM's probably a contender, I'm no modeller but the SLAM doesn't look like the hardest model in the world to create.

Feel free to surprise us with anything else though. New SPR sounds would be welcomed. ;)

for the maps we are really only updateing the server files which are like 5mb each to fix small bugs and hofuly blance them out abit more. Most of the 200mb is tweaks like objects ect that need to be fixed up due to the patch.

EDIT: the only map that i can think of that needed a clinet update was the Sharqi Nights SOBJ as it was missing ENVmaps and to add them in, you have to redo the whole client folder.
