Wouldn't it just be the same coding as the commander has for setting waypoints? but if the SL marks it, then it'll be like the current squad markers wouldn't it?

yer but you see the commanders way point thingys are seen by the whole team i am wondering can it be done so that it can only be seen by the one section?

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

We'll when a SL chucks down an 'attack here' marker, only their squad can see it, so I don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

you know.. the lack of devs saying "POSSIBLE!" or "HARDCODED" has me thinking there looking into it=)

also, here is another time i have thought i could of used this.
i join a game late, all locked of full squads, so i make one, then i get 5 1-2 day noobs on the map, a few have played training for a few hours to learn some ropes, but training will not teach you everything.
i said, ok, we are going to split up, and secure the area.i cant use move markers and say, you, go here
you go here,
you go here, we are setting up a perimiter.
just like the co marker abcd, if i could have that, i could have told my sm what building i want them in, but i ended up having to babysit them there way there becuase they got lost from having no marker.

it can also help a nowb (or however that noob is spelled) sl place assets, he can lpace the markers, and ask if anyone knows the best place for the hmg. and they can just say, letter "L"

if you have mines in the exit, and you mark the mines with those letters on your squad map, and u get a new person into your squad, he can tell where the mines are due to the points on the map/ingame screan that showes the mines, allthough he still cannot see it.

yeah having letters for markers would be cool. You could go, "Fireteam 1, patrol A-C with 10 meter spread" "Fireteam 2, patrol D-F, with 20 meter spread"...that could work pretty well

i belive it would only go up to E anymore and it starts to clog up. plus there should probably be a remove marker(s) thing.
if you miss him... try, try again

I think this would benifit gameplay,

And in no way can I see it hindering gameplay.

Markers could be used as reference markers for anything really, thus helping the squad members and squad leader alike.

More pro's than con's as I have seen in previous posts, I would hope to atleast hear/see that the DEVS have tried to implement this.
