Why spec ops?
I see this class played ALOT, and I'm just curious, why do you choose this class? It's the one class I can't stand to play, I play every other class excessivly but you wont ever catch me spec ops unless im flying, and i dont like them in my squad. my turn offs to this class.
-i can't stand the M-4
-no armour
-SLAMs really aren't too useful (unless you are destroying objectives)
so if you play the spec ops class alot, enlighten me!

I really only play SpecialOps when my squad or the map is mainly air-transport. They're usefull if your squad are all spec ops because your chopper doesn't have to go in a danger zone and you guys can infiltrate by stealth from behind enemy lines. Pls, 6 M4's working side by side is a very deadly thing. And as you guys advance, each one of you stick Slams onto walls in 15-20 second intervals just to cover your rears and give your enemies something else to worry about.

I'm with you there, Riki, I prefer a full rifle to the carbine. They don't have any real noticable advantages. I've seen people do devastating things with that carbine though, and it's especially good for short range often urban combat.
I'm only ever Spec Ops when we have to blow shit up or I have to parachute.

ah! ok, thank you! this is the kind of post i have been looking for. will take note of that.
I guess my big problem is, i will be a squad leader and sometimes ill have 3 spec ops, and well, they just get mowed down most of the time when they could be more handy as support or medic.
i think it just really comes down to the type of harassment i deal out when im with a squad. when its all infantry i like to roll in hard 2 supports, 2 medics, one assualt and myself, where ill switch between "special purpose" classes (AT, sniper, eng).
do you always play in this style? with the spec ops squad? maybe if i see you in a game ill join you sometime and take some notes. thanks.

M4 is an excellent weapon if you learn to use it properly. Ive used it as a sort of Marksman rifle at times, but its also an excellent close combat weapon.

Very good class....
With scope u can engage a lot of target at middle range and take down machine gunners easily, also snipers don't have easy life...
Yeah, no armor but it is not 1st line of fight class...in this game spec ops is rather support class.
C4 is nice against infantry, just put one satchel at the flag, in hidden place and wait for enemy to take down the flag ;] I play often with friends and speak thru TS. I set satchel at the flag that is closest to enemy's one and go fight... and when i hear they're trying to take flag i am doing : KABOOM ;]
And it is also nice to kill enemy that is chaseing u, u're hiding behind corner, setting charge and waiting 2s.. and when he shows up sure that u're defensless u're makeing what?
KABOOM ;]
I miss silencer from DC in PRM
it would even better class in CQB...just sneak up behind them and take them down, one by one...

I use the Spec Ops class a lot on urban maps, for these reasons:

- It's the best CQB kit as it packs 6 magazines for the rifle in total and 4 for the P228.
- It's got a pair of hand grenades.
- All variations have full auto and semi auto, so you're always ready for quick engagements.
- The M4 is really accurate and great on urban maps as it can really pick players off from a range and it's great for spraying because of its recoil, so you pop round a corner and release 30 rounds into whoever's standing there.
- The rangefinder is useful for a bit of part time recon. When you're crossing a large area it's good to stand back, cover the rear and spot at the front. On those large open areas on Muttrah it's important to know if anyone's up ahead and the Spec Ops class is great at this.
- The SLAMs come in handy if you need to blow up anything or create ambushes/traps or anything to scare the enemy.
- They have more stamina than the armoured classes.

I don't alway play like this lol, because as you said SpecOps die really easily. But these guys are great because you can airdrop w/o being seen where the chopper lands and they have a lot of sprint stamina. They really only work in some maps, like the one where the USM has to attack the Dock then to the city. A squad is a huge help to the main attacking forces when they flank the frontlines, especially from behind. The M4 isn't as strong as the M16 but in Medium-Close encounters they own, specially when your guys practice cover&advance tactics.'[R-DEV wrote:Riki_Rude_BTYC']ah! ok, thank you! this is the kind of post i have been looking for. will take note of that.

I always play spec ops or medic nothing else ever. Mostly spec ops unless i see alot of dead teammates everywhere.
why you ask?
becuase spec ops is so cool. He looks the best with his hat and scarfe thingy and the m4 is so sick looking. The new pistol looks amazingly cool too! It just looks cool. Feels good to be a spec ops guy.
Sounds noobish but heres another reason.
I need an Automatic weapon. I find i have little patience to wait and shoot single fire so i am in CQB alot. you ask why dont i go support? i boycott that class for obvious reasons(its god). The mp5 i dunno I have not used it enough dont like the look either. So the only other choice is the m4. I never use the Slams only nades knife and pistol.
just talking about this sexy class makes me want to go play PRMM right now....later

i like the spec ops a lot because as many people have said it is good at short and middle ranges...the problem with it i beleive is if you only have one of them in your squad as they are easy to take out unless there are at least 3 of them who can wrk together...if there was a squad devoted to spec ops and maybe 2 medic i think would be good.....all jump in a transport helo make a HALO Jump the medic jumps out and dies the spec ops Halo Jumper take the medic kit revives his homey who takes the spec ops...do the same with the other guy and you got yourself a squad behind enemy lines maybe to take out arty then proceed to a flag or to secure a exit route in xtract...although organzining this whole thing would be a total ache and take a long time and a lot of ts so .....
