I agree, I was jsut answering to the big "*if* we added a faction" question. I say expand the MEC instead of making new factions. They need to be totally revamped, and there are so many possibilities for weapons and such.bakarocket wrote:six7: I'm Canadian, and I agree. But no matter what country is added, there is going to be overlap. The biggest arms manufacturers in the world make the same stuff for different countries and just give it different names. Neither Japan nor Germany have native aircraft, and India and Pakistan have an eclectic mix of ex-Russian and ex-US vehicles.
If it's going to be realistic, all that really needs to be done is add a few flags. But that doesn't change game play, so why bother?

AUSTRALIA
Let me explain why:
Let me explain why:
- Australia takes a major role in all world conflicts. We're actually sending more troops into Iraq.
- Very close to China and the Pacific Theatre, we would be the first to participate in military action against China
- Weapons are very weasy to model. All our troops basically use customised versions of the same rifle
- Standard sidearm in the Browning HP, already modelled for the Brits
- We use the F/A-18 Hornet as our main fighter, already in game.
- We're getting F-35 JSFs, again, already in game
- Our soldiers are some of the best in the world. Especially the SASR. Australian SASR troops had a 400:1 kill ration in Vietnam, the best of any infantry unit in recorded military history
- LRPV (Long Range Patrol Vehicle) = FAV on steroids. That baby kicks ***.
- The existing LAV-25 in game only requires a tiny bit of manipulation to become an ASLAV
- There is already an Australian mod. Perhaps you could come to some sort of agreement with them.

Canadians? But they're just peace keepers, eh?
Ok, ok, that was cruel, but I dont think we'll be seeing them any time soon...
And some info about the C7, it's not a copy of the M16A2, the M16A2 is a modifed copy of the C7, incorporating things such as the longer stock, brass deflector, round handguards rather than the old stlye delta ones, etc... Obviosly, the M16A2 has it's own differences, for example the rear sights and burst mode in stead of full auto.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

If this ever happens, let me just put it out there that I'm happy to be a military advisor on the Aussies.

Let me also explain why:
- Israel is in conflicts all of its existense history.
- Israel borders all of MEC armys, we are the first ones to put on military boots.
- All new kind of weapons and abilitys, plus use some of the original BF2 weapons
- New models will be way better then any "Reskined" weapon ingame, maybe it is more work but it will be worth it.
- Use of AH-64DI (IDF version of AH-64D), F-15's and UH-60's, allready modeled.
- Our soldier are in combat all time, all of IDF army groups are, the Israeli pilots fly 30% more flight hours then the avarage world combat pilot.
- Heavy APC units such as Achzarit and modifyed British Centurion tanks to use as heavy combat engineering vehicles.
- There is already things in plan, concepts and list and if you want a helping designer im free

Or Russian. I think having the ruskies in the war would be great, we know they're part of the fictional BF2 war from Special Forces, the Spetsnaz and Rebels played a part in a few fights and the UK fought against the Spetsnaz so presumably the whole of Russia is part of the 'enemy' side. The Rebels may be on 'our' side or just simply against the majority of Russia.

The Rebels are funny, they have no allies. They are what leather wips are to the Commonwealth Queen = Unwanted and Unknown.Malik wrote:Or Russian. Russia does clash with the SAS on Ghost Town in SF so i would have thought they were 'enemys' but who knows, it could have been secret?

There are other reasons why SF units are used, i was just speculating. Mabey Russia is a planned enemy that the DICE team was once again to lazy to put them in fully.Malik wrote:Well yeah, that's the idea behind the whole SF expansion pack. Armies don't just send their Special Forces teams at each other for nothing, they clearly had a reason for fighting. If the Russians are involved as well as China, I think Communism is involved too.![]()

I was under the impression, from the descriptions of certain maps, that the Russians and the US/EU coalition of BF2 were, apart from that little incident in ghost town, allies. It states in Songhua Stalemate that the USMC forces are pushing into northern China from the Russian steeps and a similar thing for one of the Euro force maps, great wall I believe.Malik wrote:Or Russian. Sides worth noting are Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, North Korea and Israel. Those are the main forces that are a must involved in the war. Taiwan, Japan and South Korea all feature U.S presence and support. Obviously China isn't just going to ignore the 3rd USMC Division stationed in Okinawa Japan and head straight for Wake Island.
I know for a fact that China and Taiwan have some very tense relations. Since China considers Taiwan still apart of their territory, yet there are people in Taiwan who think of themselves as a soverign nation. Taiwan is U.S backed, thats why I think its the main reason the war starts.
The korean war is technially still not over, so why wouldn't North Korea team up with China in taking down South Korea?
Israel is just a middle-east target. Middle-East peoples would go on a crusade to retake the holy city of Jerusalem (Map idea anyone?).
The Philipines could get involved too. I've been readin up on some communist problems they have been having in the south. Perhaps China comes down to take over the seris of islands and restructure the government with communism. Makes for some nice pacific theatre maps too.
I don't know about Russia though. They just seem too poor to get involved on a large scale. Perhaps they use their special operations and intelligence to protect their own interests or something. Yet they may deny any military intervention with the conflict.
Another thing we might want to consider. There could be some western alliance or something. If the U.K and U.S are involved, why wouldn't the French, Polish and other European nations not. I'm pretty sure European countries do have some oil interests in the middle-east.
