I believe the problem is teamwork between pilots and rest of the team.
IRL a plane or helicopter doesnt strafe randomly and finds targets with a magic radar.
It has a flight plan with steerpoints for a safe route and general target's location so it can points its radar there.
Of course all these requires intel. Where are the threats, targets etc.
This kind of intel is very rare in PR. Pilots "hates" troopers and troopers "hates" pilots.
So pilot remains blind and becames a lone wolf. But its not only his fault.
I think its better for the pilots to ask changes which help them to have access to intel than changes like less AA, allien technology flares etc.

Well, I've never been asked by pilots if theres AA somewhere, all thats happened is that I've been told "Omg AA in wherever, whyhavn't you destroyed it?"

If I try to fly one map, spend the whole time asking with no result.
"Today's forecast calls for 30mm HE rain with a slight chance of hellfires"
"oh, they're fire and forget all right...they're fired then they forget where the target is"

I like the suggestion. Makes sense.[R-DEV]Drav wrote:The problem isnt the game, the problem is the players and the communications. We played a tournament game against NATO1 on Muttrah and they used their Cobra properly. In 3 hours I think we killed it maybe once. We won the game, but putting any kind of defences on the rooves of building etc etc just got them destroyed, as if ground troops spotted anything, they relayed its position and it got taken out. We had to be very careful with our APCs, and overall it was a pretty deadly asset.
Deployable AA is pretty easy to kill if you know where it is, the problem is most players really dont care. Luda you comment that if you can hover you're not playing against high skill troops, but in the same way you could say that if you're not getting lases and AA positions relayed to you, then you're not playing with high skilled troops either.
If i was to change anything about the helos, I'd make the laser marker visible from further away than at present.
Also youre right about the problem being with the player nto the game. I do get the sense that PR is built for private play rather than public.
