Re: How Much would you pay?
Meh, honestly, I would pay a lot more for PR .4 or .5, even though content might be way worse back then, the gameplay was fantastic. Maybe it's the new community, I don't know.
However just because PR took this long to make to what it is now, and still is fun to play, I'd buy it for around 30 quid.
No offense, but what the f*** is wrong with some of you. There's the realism elitists that b*tch about every single thing that's unrealistic, then there's the PR elitists saying that PR is the only game and all the other games suck and there's the gameplay whiners that think every change that makes the game harder is stupid. Calm down, jeez.

Re: How Much would you pay?
well, i would pay around 10 - 20 bucks for PR, if it was a BF2 expansion, but if PR evolved into having its own engine, and maybe a single player and ported into consoles, and expanded into a much much bigger community, then i would pay around 60 bucks.
If pr ran in its own engine where the developers could do whatever they wanted with the game, def 60 bucks, but it would have to have sick graphics, gameplay, and a large community

Like what...Airs0ft_S0ldier11 wrote:PR should remain free. I have more important things to spend my money on.
If they ever release some kind of commercial version of PR I would buy it but keep it on $40. The idea would be cool though, wonder how it's gonna look if they create their own game... As long as you keep updating and tweaking it ofcourse!

If I could buy it in a shop I'd pay about $10/$15, but $40 as the lowest value?
You can't really ever expect many people to pay for something that's just modded off another game's code.

Re: How Much would you pay?
Apart from the fact it is a free mod, hypothetically I'd pay more then $60 for it if I needed to.
However if it really was a retail game it wouldn't be the same, it might result in something good like EA selling them the engine and they overcome hardcoding issues OR something bad like the devs focus on money and only release rushed profitable content.
Still more value to me then the majority of retail titles.

Re: How Much would you pay?
I would pay in excess of $100.00 AU for PR. For a game that has given me more enjoyment and a community unlike any other I have or probably ever will experience, I think it is a game worthy of that much money (if it was a retail game). Of course, half the people in this thread are too downright stupid to know a hypothetical question when they see one, but I think many of the people would put this sort of value on it.

Re: How Much would you pay?
I put no way in hell.
No offense. I love how far they are pushing the engine. But that's just it: It's a engine from 2001. I would, hypothetically, start paying big bucks for the game if it had a great engine to start with...IDK, something they made from scratch....? Or Unreal Engine 3?

I'm just saying, In terms of longevity I have played Project Reality longer than any other game in my life. It's just so unique and so much work goes into it that I think it definitely has a worth.

Re: How Much would you pay?
I voted the zero option...don't like the no way in hell statement tbh, but that's just me.
If however i spotted out the game on a shelf today, and it had a description of what kind of culture it focused on (or cultures) and also described how it approached that or those, i would have no problem paying $200 for it, or more.
I would even be willing to hand out folders to people on work and in my network in general - folders about the game - if such was located in the cardbox to the game as well.
In such a case i would love to be an voluntarily "working" ambassador for the game. And i would think it was awesome if my results led to others bought the game and that i somehow could show of in the forums with the amount of people i got to buy it and thereafter also played the game with as well.

Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

Re: How Much would you pay?
If i walked into a store and saw this on the shelves, i'd be like "WTF? Assets that kill you when you deploy them? Thats Lithiumy"
So no, when i first walked in i probably wouldn't pay for it...
also most the noobs would probably have bought it if it was in stores.. and that would make it more worthless..
I love this mod simply because it's that... it's a mod..... not as well known as most games.. thus we keep our noobage down compare to our "people who care" portion

Re: How Much would you pay?
I would pay maybe 20-30 dollars. I reduced average game cost for the simple fact that the game is running off the BF2 engine and has a lot of simularities to BF2 despite the game-play being completly different after many patches of modifications.
However if PR could deliver the same general game-play, experience, etc but has developed there own engine that fits more to there needs and diddn't have limits so they could actually add certon features that devs wanted to add but couldn't because of the engine. I would pay above average game price because it would be the best FPS game in history.
Same general graphics (I could probally run top of the line but not everybody in PR can). Better walk/run movements where if you jump you aren't frozen for like a couple of seconds regarding run ability and putting up your sights. Simple things like that.
I would have much favored PR as a BF2 expansion rather than those **** other BF2 expansions like Special Forces and Euro Forces. How much did those come out as? Take that price and add like 10 dollars to that. Theres your worth.

Re: How Much would you pay?
What right do you have to question them? Yes I know you are TCC and PR uses your server(s) which you "donated" out of the kindness of your heart. But seriously don't act like you are better than the other people here.tlindy wrote:what a funny thread, all these people saying I would pay this or that, but yet havent donated anything to PR?
I would pay for PR as a game, to buy it in a store like I did BF2. However to help support a server right now no, why? Because if I was paying monthly what I would to run an MMO I'd always expect the following
1. Server to be decently full 24/7
2. Player-base of the server to be decent (have a mic, use teamwork, follow the rules)
3. Admins of said server to do their job properly
Guess what? Lately all three of those aspects have been absolute shit on all servers aside from some bright moments throughout the day.
Until PR is running a decent server where there are tough rules, admins that are hard-*** on those who break the rules and the server REQUIRES you have a microphone I refuse to support any server that is out there.
Mumble was/is something that has only made PR better, and I hope it doesn't go away for the reasons I've been hearing or it's pretty darn pathetic.

Re: How Much would you pay?
What does this have to do with my statement? Honestly until somebody makes everything perfect for you wont support anything? Nice attitudeYes I know you are TCC and PR uses your server(s)
Act better than anyone else here? I think you have some issues.
I find it absolute hysterical that people say I wouldnt pay anything for it (even though I love the game so much and the communitty), but I will play it for free, then ***** about it cause it doesnt go there way.
yeah your perfect place to play sounds great, but in the real world it doesnt happen. There is to much you cant control and there isnt anyway it will ever happen with public play!
