That would be great. More favorable on the large PR maps. In infantry maps it would be horrible. It would have more infantry squads. I really hate maps that have lack of Infantry squads.

That one desert map of US vs MEC where theres the two bunkers in the middle and the US as AA Hummers, etc. Too much of the time you get like 2 heli squads, 4 armor squads and if you are lucky 1 infantry squad after sniper squad and or spec ops.

It's retarded because majority of the flags, specificly the bunker areas require infantry to capture them as they are blocked off from vehicles. Leaving any side with more infantry the victors of the map.

Increased players would force people to have to make infantry squads as you can't have 7 armor squads without the actually number of armor for those squads to use.

I would much favor a server being able to have 128 players.

There WAS a server that hosted 128 players. It was called Rubber ducky and it was fairly stable far beyond 64 players. The max I've seen first hand was about 80 and I've heard reports from some people that 128 was very stable and even lagless.

They just needed to modify their client files if I remember correctly.

Hmm this would be a cool idea and very interesting, More people = more battles = more realism imo. The commander would have a tougher job to command 32 more people so. I think it would be a cool idea to explore, with the increased players it would add more players so then it would be more real because you have more people on the battlefield like real life.

Wow I had no idea this had actually been done. I was under the impression it was impossible.

Having a 128 player server would improve the PR experience DRAMATICALLY IMO (especially AAS). Right now the balance of power on the combined arms maps is totally off. Kashan is the biggest example of this.

With 128 player servers we could have real actual hardcore battles... 7-8 infantry squads + armor + air would be fantastic.

Even on a map like Muttrah City... a lot of times you end up only having like 3 dedicated infantry squads per side which is really, really lame for a map of that size. The city feels very empty.

Which is why I play mostly Insurgency these days.

Honestly this is the single biggest flaw with PR I think... the battles just don't have enough grunt level infantry in them.

So 128 player server CAN be done by merely tweaking server files? Wow. Would PR be held responsible if a server did this? (I'm not speaking of myself I don't have the money or know-how). Do you think EA would actually give a shit?

I can't understand why EA wouldn't release a patch for this... it could only help boost sales (having 128 player capability is a pretty big advantage over other FPS games on the market)
