This is unclear. Rhino said that you can't fly higher then 300 meters but others say that it is possible. So don't make judgments too early.

Not flying over 200 meters was a mistake on Rhino's part. The Conflict modders managed to get around it. But you don't need bf 2142 to implement the majority of this. Most is feasible with the bf2 engine, and could (imo should) be implemented into pr.

allow me to list the main failing of BF2 engine:

-deviation
-ballistics
-server limit
-vehicle seats
-greater interaction with static objects (feet thru walls)

imao, these are reasons to change, as long as we arnt just all in love with the momentum of the game. |If it was perfect ppl would still be crying out for changes this is the nature of the beast

BF2142 might be just an upped version of BF2, but it is better than BF2 itself (engine wise)

I see no reason to NOT change. =) Besides we need our own textures and statics anyways. Get away from those generic BF2 statics and textures :razz:

Besides you can get the Deluxe edition for like $20... and i feel like the hit detection is so much better in it than BF2.... =) seriously


o.o i know it would take forever and some people might be upset... but hey, if you gotta pay $20 dollars for a free mod to extend itself... well... =] i think it's worth it personally.. and i'm flat broke (actually i'm in debt... ><)

(Also to the mods)

You'd probably also have to grab a bunch of random people to replace textures and models for you as well.. it might take forever if the normal mods and con's help.

well changing to bf2142 is just a question of how serious the statement of one of the dice guys was, that they do not care about porting stuff between bf2 and bf2142 anymore

They managed to get an MMO running smoothly on CryEngine now.. Only a matter of time before they do the same with CryEngine3.

If we're going to switch engine, we should go for the best one, not just a slightly better one.
