Adding the Sniper breathing affect to all weapons.
I would like to see the snipers breath sound added by default in iron sites / optics.
why you ask would you want to hear your solider breathing?
This would give you a better idea of your deviation when you stop and pull up your site you will hear his breathing sound when hes done taking his first breath it would have been 6 secs you could then learn when to fire your next round with training learning when your deviation has gone back down using the breathing sound as a guide.
what do you think?
can bf2 add this sound with out forcing the player to hold down a key?

I like the idea, especially for marksman. But on say an L85, pushing 3 flicks between Auto and Semi fire so it would need to be a specific key or the noise is made by default when your prone looking down the sight.

If it was set as a default it would always be there you would not need to hit 3 to make it do the sound.fullonforce wrote:I like the idea, especially for marksman. I only have one arm and that just not going to happen I cant fire and hold down the 3 key so I really would like it set as a default or at lest have the option to turn it on as default.

I don't think it should eb added to all weapons all the time, because you're supposed to use your rifle for suppresing, not killing!
although if it was optional it would be ok, but only if it really messed up your aim if you don't fire at the right time (I.E not on the out breath) so that it isn't misused.
This would mean that if you want you can do a good shot with your weapon.

Marine WHAT? So how am i supposed to kill them? Run up to them and knife em? Well that would work if they are trying to miss me and make me duck.

Re: Adding the Sniper breathing affect to all weapons.
you would not need to wait for the breathing to be at the right time because deviation in PR does not work that way you only get high deviation from moving not breathing.Royal_marine_machine wrote:I don't think it should eb added to all weapons all the time, because you're supposed to use your rifle for suppresing, not killing!

Your rifle is to suppress the enemy, then half the squad FLANKS the enemy and kills them with grenades and their rifles on automatic/bayonets.Cheditor wrote:Marine WHAT? Theres been disscussions about this before so i'm not going to bother discussing it now.
I know, but In reality breathing makes alot of difference when shooting, beleive me.
Therefore it should be when it breathes out there is less deviation, when he breathes in there is more, but only when you press the Breath button or w.e, otherwise it's somewhere in the middle.

I think i have played against you.. one squad tried that on my squad once. They didnt even manage to come closer then 40 m and they were lying dead..Royal_marine_machine wrote:Your rifle is to suppress the enemy, then half the squad FLANKS the enemy and kills them with grenades and their rifles on automatic/bayonets.

Wern't my squad
Whenever I've tried it I've succeded except one where we went to flank them and emt an APC (D
you have to do the flanking bit well, I.e make sure the enemy is suppresed and not firing back first, or "Pinned Down" or w.e and keep the flanking team moving behind cover.

I would really like the option at lest this is the best way i can think of to help the player know his deviation something PR really needs and is way better then the H-AT aiming deviation helper.

Marine, rifles are for killing.
A good squad can prevent from being flanked, so sometimes it just has to be a battle of getting the high ground, getting better cover, getting reinforcements, getting air support or even just getting the fack out of there.

Supress
BTW: @Royal marine machine, your breathing idea is not possible with the bf2 engine, the breathing in sniper is just a sound to show when you have waited long enough.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

Re: Adding the Sniper breathing affect to all weapons.
royal, you every listen to the marine i think it is chant..
this is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for killing, this is for fun.
(link to where they sing that on full metal jacket=P YouTube - This Is My Rifle This IS My Gun )
guns are for killing, but you can supress them down, and have another person SHOOT them.
i dont know about you, but i shoot guns for accuracy. i dont shoot next to my target to scare it, i shoot the target. what if you shoot next to a person in pr, and he reports you, and you get attacked by his squad,
so please, royal, what are you trying to say? is it i am just poor at reading english then......?
also... for the suggestion, can it be made so, idk, like the punkbuster thing, every time you take a shot or everytime you zoom, you get the breathing sound? thatway if your shooting, 1 shot, breath, 1 shot, breath... the only thing i see bad is the quick shooting, where you here the breething overlay like 50 times=P

I would like the option of the breathing noise
a tool if you want it for those long range semi auto shots.

Re: Adding the Sniper breathing affect to all weapons.
maybe not even pushing a key.
maybe just when you scope in its automatic, but that would get a bit annoying.
so mmaybe a key is the best, but personally i dont need it, would be a nice little side thing though

Re: Adding the Sniper breathing affect to all weapons.
Wait...what? The sniper rifle breathing noise is an 8 second sound effect to signify when your accuracy is at maximum after each shot and after moving. It in no way effects the accuracy of the weapon itself, it just simply adds a audible timer to a weapon that needs it. A rifle however reaches its maximum accuracy long before a sniper and therefore it is needless to have this effect. Plus, add this sound effect and you will no longer be able to swap firing modes
- as the sniper simply has the same firing mode on the selector and pressing the firing mode selector key will swap, in the process playing the sound effect which would otherwise be accompanied by a *click* noise as with all the rifles.
I really didn't think it would be that hard to count a few seconds in your head, in fact, its almost a natural reflex to wait the correct amount of time if you get the hang of it.

Re: Adding the Sniper breathing affect to all weapons.
how about fixin this bug on the aim deviation: ive seen snipers going from crouch to stand and get freaking 1 shot kills, even though they are ducking up and down to zero in.... freaking lame! and it works cuz i tried it too
