does the range you can place FB assets vary per map?
ive heard 300 meters
200 meters
ive tested 150 meters but the fire base was at a lower elevation than where i was placing my assets
i cant find it in any guides
off topic: i looked at the guide right now and it says it needs a pass word or is under construction or something
whats the range to place assets?

Re: whats the range to place assets?
Elevation has nothing to do with it, I believe. And I believe it varies by map, as well. IE, 4k maps it's 300m, 2k maps it might be 200m, and 1k maps 150m.
Dunno for sure, though.

Forward Outpost (FOB):
- The team can have 4 of them
- Must be atleast 300m away from each other
- Must be constructed atleast 300m from the Command Post (600m on big maps)
- 300m distance to other hideouts
- Team can have 4 hideouts
- 300m distance to Command Post

Re: whats the range to place assets?
Assets can be placed up to 150m from the FOB/Firebase.
Confirmed personally in Basrah. These razor wires were placed just at the "edge" of my allowed build location, where the FOB was inside VCP.

The "observe" icon (viewable in the lower-left corner) I've placed on t he FOB says "110m" from where I'm standing... hard to see ans I re-scaled the image above. The last razor wire is at approx 145 m down the street.
Add note to all SL's: Guess what? You can place those .50cal emplacements FAR AWAY from your FOB, i.e. in a "useful" location, as opposed to 3 meters away from the spawnpoint. Try putting the gun emplacements facing down a road, or covering a large arc-of-fire area where it would be useful. =)

That SS reminds me of the epic firebase I made at the outpost on that map. We took out so many insurgents...it was hilarious.'[R-CON wrote:JuniperM40;1038916']Assets can be placed up to 150m from the FOB/Firebase.

Re: whats the range to place assets?
Agreed. In earlier patches that base was very popular for Firebases and base defenses. They would always place razorwire at both entrances of the base so enemy couldn't get it but the firebase was useless because nobody could get out either. Lucky however that vehicles spawned on the firebase and you could get out that way. Without vehicles spawning there anymore its really ridiculous.Dr2B Rudd wrote:http://206.80.253.132/~chrisk/BF2PR/screen165_small.JPG

That is the most useful place for razor wire I have seen at that location ever.
