AH-64D Apache Longbow
You should add the AH-64D Apache Longbow as an Attack Helicopter for the US side, since AH-1s, I presume, are hardly used anymore, if at all. Also, you might consider adding the RAH-66 Comanche, which was experimental, and successful, but not fielded due to economic reasons. The Comanche's just a hopeful idea, but you should definately take the AH-64D into consideration. Thanks.

The Longbow will definitely be in Project Reality for the UK team.
The AH-1 is used heavily by the United States Marine Corps. The AH-1Z (USMC helo) isn't even in widespread use yet, IIRC; that's how new it is. I think they're still using Whiskeys mostly.
I have no reason to believe that the RAH-66 will ever been implemented, seeing as it's not in service.

If I remember correctly they (US gov't) cancelled it (Commanche) because it was too expensive.

Hang on, the British use the Longbow exclusively dont they?
I alwase thought that the WAH-64 Longbow was the UK designation AND was named Longbow like the Bowman system but yet the Americans have gone form the none roof-mounted dome version to the Longbow version in less than a month.
Whats going on?

You make it sound like anyone who has played BF2 can use anythink effectively without the threat of death... Althogh you will get a few who dont care -- Infact no, make that everyone.'[R-DEV wrote:Riki_Rude_BTYC']The Commanche in POE rocked, not that many people could use them effectivly though.

The US Army has used the AH-64D Longbow since 1998. Westland was awarded the contract to license produce it for the UK while it was undergoing production in the US. The Longbow radar dome is not always mounted on the helicopter.Pence wrote:Hang on, the British use the Longbow exclusively dont they?

I know hardly anythink about the Longbow, its simply stupid on my part to think its name is related to the British use of the Bowman System'[R-DEV wrote:Eddie Baker']The US Army has used the AH-64D Longbow since 1998. Don't forget we're also talking about China here...
The Commanche was cancelled because it wasn't worth spending so much money on something that will fight kids with 50-year-old weapons hiding in caves. However if as in BF2's reality a massive war with China broke out you might see the Commanche make a comeback, no?

I dont think it would actualy, what is the advantage of a stealth helicopter, sure it can move undetectid easyer but helicopters fly NOE anyway and only break cover if they are strikeing at targets that are over a mile away.Doedel wrote:Don't forget we're also talking about China here...
