Sod M4s give them a manly man's M16 carbine - a colt commado. M733 FTW! none of this 14.5" barrel sillyness, proper 11.5" barrels all the way. If you're going to have a carbine have a carbine, dont make one and then think, "hey wouldnt it be nice if it was a rifle too?". (And before anyone points this out I am aware that colt class thier commando series as SMGs not carbines, but what to they know?)Andrew_Kirk_25 wrote:Looks good, just a few things:
1: It's an M4, not a CAR-15
2: With no civillian casualties, Mortars would be massively abused.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

The 11.5 barrel looks way too stubby... I love the M4, it looks like a younger, fresher version of the M16 without looking like it has no accuracy. The shorty Colt Commando looks a little too short, I doubt it's that accurate either.
I say we implement the M249 Para firing M16 30 round magazines.

It's basically that, but firing the 30 round mags. Now THAT'S a rifle.

Yes. We NEED a distiction between Designated Marksmen and actual Snipers. Plus, a large caliber rifle such as the M82/M107 and hopefully later on the XM109 (when it looses the X and enters full use) would be the height of asskicking. Also, I think that snipers should be harder to spot, because I see people spotting every bush around a flag to make sure there are no snipers.Malik wrote:Sniper needs to have a class of its own. Put the heavy machine gun with the light machine gun and remove the mortar. Have the DMR with the 'recon' class as it is and have the final class for 'Sniper' with the option of an Anti Materiel rifle and a full range sniper.

The Colt Commando 733 isn't really in wide US military service anymore. Some units use something with an even shorter barrel, the Mk-18. It used to be only for Naval Special Warfare but now it is issued to Navy VBSS teams, which are made up of selected and trained personnel from each ship.Bob_Marley wrote:Sod M4s give them a manly man's M16 carbine - a colt commado. The M16 magazine feed capability was designed as a contingency measure. Carrying the M249 loaded with an M16 magazine isn't SOP. On the Mk-46 Special Purpose Weapon (special operations version of the SAW), this feature has been removed as a weight saving measure. The 200 round belt boxes or the 100 round soft belt containers, sometimes called "nutsacks," are the default feed devices.Malik wrote:I say we implement the M249 Para firing M16 30 round magazines.
BTW, the sight is a M145 Machinegun Optic (MGO), manufactured by ELCAN.
