I My Self self don't use Mumble for the fact that it is very poor in it's settings standards right now. Not everybody has the same settings. And so I will be at a disadvantage at times when using it.
could you PM me what you mean here? (this isn't a mumble thread, But I'm interested)
Technically this is all cheating for a reality game.
And how is it cheating to have full on positional audio
Odd, I think he means the loud noises IRL have damaged his hearing.

But ofc...the game isn't gonna be designed to destroy ur hearing.

and I hear the next generation of headsets in the field will have some kind of digital shock absorbers or somethig (it knows an explosion is different to a voice and only lets the voice through or something)

Yes, I meant that you cannot turn down sounds so that you can hear your radio or other people yelling at you. You just have to talk louder or use hand and arm signals. Could turn your radio up, but that will only get you so far too.

And that is possible Rudd about the headset, we have equipment like that now, to deal with this matter actually, but it is kind of designed poorly and not many people use it.

I used to not really play kashan much - the matches get quite long and joining mid-way through is a bit difficult. But I love the sounds effects on the tanks and the jets. It's also lots of fun if you turn the volume right the way up to get the nice boooom of the tanks and grenades.

Am I right in thinking that they've added flyby sounds for the apcs projectiles now?

Personally, i love all the sound effects, i want the feeling of being there, and im playing as realistic as i can, to get the realistic feeling myself. I know that you cant hear the VOIP very clear when you're fireing or taking fire, but that's how it should be in my opinion.

If you go down next to a LMG, that's fireing for full effect, and tries to talk to a guy next to it, you shouldn't be able to hear squat about what he's talking about, tho, this is not the case of the Voip at the moment, since you can still hear some sentances in the voip.

And On-topic, the best thing of the sounds of PR are the distant fire-fights! I love to run with my squad on Operation Barracuda, and still be able to hear firefights in the distance, hearing the MG fireing, grenades blowing and everything! Or when tanks are fireing from a distance, gives me the shivers! Credits to the PR-sounds! They really made them good! :smile:

Tanks in the current version sound so cool. Just a BAAAWAAAOOOHHHH. As it echoes across the map. Then the little smoke trail out of the barrel :)

I kinda preferred the 3rd person sound effect from .8 for the attack helos. It sounded more like, 'heck yea get the fudge out of the way!' and you could imagine the guy on the receiving end was getting torn up. I saw a video with updated Hydra sounds, do hellfire sounds get a make over too? I imagine if the HAT sounds are then the hellfires will receive the same.

I forgot the name of the map, but there's this one perticular US against Taliban I really enjoy, now and then a Jetfighter passes by, first time I heard that I really thought it was flying over my house. Love it!
