smee, smee, smee.

Finish one static 100% with full lods, cols which meets high quality standards and is fully exported and ingame before moving onto a new static.

Right now you have god knows how many statics which none I have seen in a state at which I would call them finished.

I know I have only been giving you feedback on the pics you have posted over the forums but still, get one model 100% finished with someone like me giving it the all ok before moving onto a new one as if you keep on doing this, you will never get any statics finished, trust me.

Glimmer has the dutch statc's have PM's you the links for the dutch zips all static's have LODS and cols and tweaks.

French ones are on hold still waiting feedback on them. ( from french mod not you ) still a way to go with them. Glimmer asked me to have a look at this one.

Am uploading level containing static's so you can just see in game. it's 24mbs but at least you can walk around on it.

The Guard house isn't finished. just imported to check out scale and playability before texturing.

when packing statics into .rars/.zips to send to people you should really keep the folder structure so its easy to extract them into the mod without making any mistakes. Now I need to look into every objects .mesh file to see exactly where they should be placed and place each texture, object etc one by one.

Also there is no point sending any test maps or w/e with the objects in them since I look at all my objects in the object editor where I can see clearly all the details etc.

Will take a look if I have some time but doubt I'll have some for a bit.

Take all the time you need to get them done m8.

No hush from our side. :) since them map your making it for for is even more WIP than your nice models.

But if you have WIP versions exported we are allways happy to try them on for size ;)

Dutch folder just has to be extracted into the /staticobjects Will in future have the structure to the MOD thanks for the pointer. With the level think its useful to see what looks like ingame. Soldier Mode doesn't work in my editor :(

Yeah, I placed all our current static objects in: object/staticobjects/dutch/*, so the directory is fine, smee.

Ice's sign is also placed in there, to keep it all nice and tidy (the location originally was different, so was the name, but spaces in a name is a big no-no, Ice :p ).

so ye anouther reason why you should get one static 100% finished before moving on as now your going to need to go back over all your old statics and re-export them into good locations as staticobjects/dutch/ etc is not a good place.

I wouldn't (/pretty sure I didn't) say they are not worth it, more that you need to have a full understanding of the basics before you move onto complicated statics like this Guardhouse thing :)
smee wrote:So looking for a nice chair :)
Good to hear, thou a chair/table is probably too simple tbh but at least getting them finished and 100% and having me happy with them will give you some where to start from :D

Also make sure you only use the vBF2 Common texture pallets and common textures in the pr/textures/ areas (ie, not me_village etc texture pallets) so they can be used on any map

Was worried I had fully put you off with my feedback but I had to be honest otherwise you would be making loads of statics that couldn't be used which would have been much worse for you.

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth
