[HELP] BF2 Editor

Post by J.Burton[EEF] »

Hi all,

I'm in a bit of a state at the moment.
Here's the score: I've been skinning a new M1A2 for the CA guys in CS4, then using BF2 Editor to preview it and then go back to CS4 and amend anything.
After doing this 15 or so times throughout the day, I've just gone to load up the Editor again to check what I'm hoping is the finishing touches - and Editor is now deciding that it only wants to load the "common" directory within objects and nothing else..
I've tried rebooting my PC, restarting Editor, creating a new pr_edit folder, uninstalling/reinstalling Editor but to no avail..

As I say I've already been using it throughout the day so it's nothing like not having objectsclient and objectsserver extracted to the same place or any other common mistakes, it just seems to be completely random.

Does anyone have any idea why it would do this? It's highly annoying as I just want to finish the bloody thing

odd, tried going back though the setting up the editor for mapping/modding for PR or w/e?

Are you sure your modmanager is loading all the folders?

Also you can set the editor up to detect any changes in a texture (and some files) and it will automatically reload them, meaning you dont have to restart the editor every time you want to update your textures ;)

Hi Rhino thanks for replying - Until yesterday I didn't know you could do that when I found it accidentally. I've only been starting it so many times because I've been in and out all day.

It is odd though because 10 minutes prior it was all working.. hmph

Is there any other way I can view the skin on the model? I recently brought 3DS Max and Cinema 4D but don't know how the hell to use 'em ;) So if I can just use either of those instead of this god awful Editor that would be a load off. I did manage to import the M1A2 model into 3DS but it looked completely borked to me and had about 5 turrets.. that's about as far as I've got with 3DS though..

Thanks again.
