I am shocked to see the long list of responses who clearly did not even attempt to read the first line of the OP. Holy macaroni, I thought the community was a bit more mature than that as a whole.

Yep... this thread is full of failreaders ;) .

The fun part? The people not willing to buy PR retail (for w/e price), would most probably buy another retail game, conclude it's shit, then buy some more :D .

Like I've said before, I would gladly pay to buy this game retail at the standard rate, however given how old the engine is and so forth I wouldn't expect it to sell for more than what BF2 is currently worth.

Now if they are building it from scratch with a newer engine that allows them to expand on their ideas with better visuals then by all means I'd pay what a new game is worth. Huge expansion packs I'd also pay a smaller amount for, but when I think about how it may divide the community I'd rather see everything after first purchase be free so that the community stays together.

Honestly if by chance they can pull off a 128-256 per server PR I would even suggest taking the MMO approach and have a first purchase price around $50 with then a small monthly fee which the developers could use to run PR servers. Don't get me wrong the player run servers are fine, but with PR run servers no one would get kicked for clan mates or buddies from those running said server. It would also be a good way to keep the younger kids from playing the game, I never really liked them being in the game to begin with so really I see it as a plus. Paying monthly would also give the developers all the more reason to keep pumping out ideas... I think the reason many good shooters die out is because the developers no longer make money working on the game so move onto something they will make money on.

KUDOS to de devs who've made an awesome and fantastic game!
I honestly believe that the game should cost something. I mean they should make some cash for their hard sweat. But at a reasonable price that is

I've been playing since the very first version of BF1942, but this game is by FAR THE FREAGEN BEST EVER!
I salute you guys for an outstanding yob. Keep it up and you'll own EA or the earth, whichiever come first.

I would pay $40 to remove 90% of the player base, and finance the rest of the 10% to play daily.
