No More US Ironsights
I looked in the *** thread, but if I missed it, feel free to lock it. Anyway, I think ironsights should be removed from US kits. I've never seen a US soldier with ironsights on today's modern battlefield. Even an aimpoint M68 is fine. The ironsights are just a little unrealistic, especially for a "future" mod.
Like I said, if it needs closing, close it.

Could you post your source or explain if you have personal experienceSqueezee wrote:I looked in the *** thread, but if I missed it, feel free to lock it. I don't think it would impact gameplay tbh, it is kinda odd that medics don't get an aimpoint...its not like they are special or whatever. Aimpoints are just as good as ironsights ingame imo. (I am only talking gameplay here, I have no experience with these weapons IRL)
side note - I 'hear' British rifles are generally not without a Scope of some kind, but I dunno about CQB sights. (ignoring the backup sights on top of scopes)

Really the best option would to be able to choice Scope, Aimpoint/whatever or ironsight using a EoD/vBF2 special weapon unlock ticker. But the DEVs have got that on their list.

I actually would rather have the iron sights than red dot in game, i just think they are funner to aim.

Some soldiers still carry Ironsights on them...
I think its fine to variate between scope and Iron Sights.

iron sights are still used, the only thing is people remove them and put on red dots or holographic sights themselves preferably. but for the soldier not issued an ACOG and doesnt have the money to invest in his own gear, iron sights are still there.

Re: No More US Ironsights
i think the purpose of having iron sights for a kit like the medic is so that it further discourages using that kit for combat. if the medic had a red dot sight, well then it would basically be like a red dot rifleman who can heal himself and others so you would have people choosing the kit for that reason and not concentrating on its real purpose which is to heal people and avoid combat.

iron sights rule in close quarters. I recently witnessed prWARSskyys get 30+ kills and 2 deaths using the U.S. medic iron sights. its proof of its effectiveness. The map was Road to Kyonganinini

it also isnt only US, all frontline british troops have a SUSAT (acog for most now).

come on, some people like the variation, removing something thats already in the game really is not the best idea

Re: No More US Ironsights
You know I really don't see how giving a medic an ACOG (he already has an Aimpoint) as an option would adversely affect gameplay. So he doesn't have a slight zoom. Guess what, people still pick the class and run off shooting things. It doesn't really stop anything. The lack of grenades is reason enough not to pick the class. The constant "OMG MEDIC MEDIC MEDIC" screams of people who can't seem to avoid gun fire is annoying enough to not play the class.
I can see why you'd do it for the HAT; where you want to encourage him to hang back just so he doesn't lose the kit but even then the strongest incentive to do that isn't his sights but the fact that he only has three magazines and a limited kit that takes a lifetime to pull out and sight in. If he had an ACOG with his HAT I really doubt he'd be blasting away on point (though even with irons it doesn't stop some people).
In reality, these types of things are just trying to mod the players and I really don't think it is as effective as some people seem to think it is.

Tbh, I like the aimpoint better then ironsights. Although it's just a dot on the end bar, it provides a clearer aiming point.
Thats just me tho..
