They would, I'm pretty sure it was like that back in 0.5.
And of course only remote detonation is an option, again, like it was in 0.5.

The USA don't have AP mines banned iirc, some other factions (most of them WIP) do, however. Though I don't think that applies to remote detonation as the reason for the ban is civilian casualties, which is less likely if the explosion is controlled.

i think remote detonation is the only workable option...tipwire claymores wouldn't be good for gamplay becasue they would be like the insurgent grenade trap, which in many cases hurts insurgent team more than the bluefor

well really i can't see any arguments for not bringing the claymore back in it's .5 form, was one of my favorit weapons back then and was great for doing ambushes or defense for a squad. it should not however be as available as it was back then, simply too many clays on the field.
however i do not feel that it should be restricted to combat engineer since i believe that they have a different role, add them as a regular infantry kit that is requestable for 3-4 guys on the team and allow them to have one mine and i think it would be well balanced since they would only be used for ambushes where the squad is away from resupplies or defence where resupply is available.

other than this i think that rearming explosives should take longer in general because they are much less common and i think that they should be used more tactically than they are now in properly done defences.
this does not however include grenades since they are just an important weapon as the rifle.

I don't mind this idea. But i wouldn't want them given to the engineer. He already has C4, and mines. Giving him claymores would bump him back up to SpecOp status again. And then his biggest asset, the wrench would get put on the back shelf. I can see it now, every combat eng will be out ambushing insurgents while the rest of the team is stuck at main with mines in both gates.

I would like to see claymores given to the specialist, if that kit were to become a limited request kit. Otherwise, i would suggest the marksman get them. Since they are seriously lacking any type of close combat/self defense ability. So by the time the claymores need to be used (when enemy is closing in) they wouldn't be engaging like other kits with better close quarters ability.

yeah claymores would be nice, especialy if they can make it so then if the engineer pplaces say 3, the clostst one to the engineer goes off first, then the next one and the next, and so on to simulate the primer cord, and as well would give the enemy a chance to perhaps try and dodge the last few in a random mad dash XD!
