Pritty much what the sudjestion is it to take what they did in RO and implement it into PR. A way to figure out how much ammo your weapon would have in basic guess.
In RO you can press a button and you will get a reading that either goes "mag is heavy" or "mag is light" it gives a general idea of how much ammo you have left.
What i sudjest is to use the little bar beside amount of ammo in Vbf2. But isntead of having a bunch of little bars have one bar that divides into 3 sections. Full, Half, Empty.
This could represent a soldier guessing with weight.
Theres a pic below of what i mean if you dont get my words.
Clip weight

Re: Clip weight

Seems good, but on top of all the gear I don't think he'll notice a few pounds (if that?) of ammo gone

Re: Clip weight
Unfortunately, I haven't had much experience with firearms, so don't hold my word over some one else's.
However, there are three things in particular that I don't like about this suggestion.
1) How easy is it to feel the "heaviness" of your mag IRL? The gun would be much heavier than the bullets inside, so I don't know how effective this would be.
2) PR started out with getting rid of unrealistic and unnecessary HUD. While there are of course some things that are left in because it's impossible to get a sense of it simply by looking at a screen or hearing the noises (such as judging your stamina, using a built in compass because having one take up another weapon slot would be too much), this wouldn't be the case.
3) You can still get a better judgement from simply thinking about how many you have left. Not an excuse really, but considering we have points 1 and 2 already it makes the suggestion both unnecessary and useless.
EDIT --> http://www.inetres.com/gp/military/infa ... _ammo.html
From looking at that, it says that the bullets are around 8 to 12 g In a 30 round clip, that's about 240-360 g. Is that right? Because in a 3.5 kg gun (the M16), that's only about a 7-10 % difference in weight. Plus, according to the wiki (sorry for the bad reference
), it's loaded weight is around 4 kg, whereas it's unloaded weight is 3.5 kg. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M16_rifle. Doesn't seem like that noticeable a difference.

Re: Clip weight
Always reload your weapon before the fire fight, even if you fired once. That one bullet can save your life
. It's esier to use this tactic than making that weight bar thing

Re: Clip weight
A magazine weight system has been suggested before and it isn't happening.

Please, do read through the Already Suggested Suggestions thread and make a thorough search of the suggestions forum with the search tool provided (its in the top right corner of the forums) before posting a "new" idea here, thanksThe *** thread wrote:Weapons - Ability to check for ammo/magazines.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
Many thanks to [R-DEV]Adriaan for the sig!
