I think civilian in its current form is bad because it isn't fun, conducive to gameplay or reprentative of ROE IRL.

IMO the system needs a whole redesign.

1st, remove civilian as a spawn kit. There should be 12 civilian kits spawn at the mosque, these would have no medic bag (not trained), but around 10 field dressing each, along with grapple hook, shovel and binocs (In the future a camcorder should be used, this is to DIFFERENTIATE the kit so that it can 1) be used for recon 2) show its a civi to help keep it alive)

2nd, Caches should spawn field dressings, 1 every 5 seconds or so. That way you can flee to a cache to heal if needed. (parody of retreating to a safehouse, you can choose to die rather than lead the enemy to the safehouse :) )

3rd, Severe penalities placed on Bluefor for killing civilians that aren't overtly helping the enemy (i.e. haven't healed in 2 mins) This will not result in human shields everywhere since the civis are a limited kit you have to find. Penalties should be 3/4 civi kills = courts martial, each civi kill = extra 60seconds spawn. 2 civi kills = kill count reset.

4th, Civis cannot pick up weapons or operate weapons.

and a side note, unarmed vehicles that have been idle for 3 mins or so should reward those that destroy them with long spawntimes.

How would they make the kits at mosque work though? Once someone picked one up they'd be going from a combat to a non-combat kit. If they picked up another they would die?

I agree with you on everything else though but I would personally like it to be a spawn limited kit and have availability based on the amount of players like other limited kits. Probably around 5 for a full server (64).

the spawn time is more punishing for the civilians then for the brits ,what they do on the Aussie servers is they will actually go out of there way to kill civilians,
the logic being that if they kill the people playing civilian enough they will get sick of the spawn time and stop using the kit denying the team of medical support.

And that not bull ether i see it happening all the time.

Great but what about your score? If you continue to kill the civis then your damaging not only the inteligence points but your own as well.

The way I see this is that the Devs created this class not to be a real sensation in the new version. It was not meant so that every one would want to be a civi but with the intention that few would.

But anyway, its just an idea.

I think its time for a POLL! :mrgreen:

Score doesn't matter in PR, plus once you hose it on accident you might as well clear up all the other civies in sight, I mean once you kill a few you already have the 5 minute timer, might as well go for the gold.

People don't really care tbh, if you have a revealed cache or two, you can afford to kill some civis according to intel penalties, and peeps aren't really bothered with score, only the Kill to Death Ratio, and tbh....the KDR is the basic objective.

Hello and thank you for a great mod, this is my first post in this forum.
I have played as civilan and agree that the spawntime is long. But it´s great that I can run after a
new beer while the tickets is counting down :)

To save the civi<this is gold i have played 0.85 since it came out, i would love a radical redesign i.e. an entire city of civis that get weapons from cell leaders not caches, along those lines but as ultra ultra easy quick fix i go for this hands down

the insurgents need the hooks to be able to set abushes beter! but maybe its a limited spawn of one civi per squad not spawn at mosque

.new clothes maybe a fullbore hijab in black,long man dress,big logo tshirt or doctors scrubs and NEW face!!!
