Urban Maps

Post by the_keen_edge »

Would anyone else like to see MANY more urban AAS maps?
CQB in PR is my favorite type of action and I think it'd be aweosme if we could get more grimy street fights :)

I like insurgency CQC, but AAS not so much, although Muttrah was epic as hell!

I TOTALLy agree, more urban maps (but not removing the good old' forests and open deserts such as EJOD and Al Bashra), but I think there should be more to AAS urban maps that could be turned into insurgency, maybe, since insurgency only makes sense on urban maps XD
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Im all for more urban maps and CQB..

off the top of my head...

there are at least 2 urban maps still coming possibly more. One is almost done and the other is earlier stages..

also we have been making a stab at more advanced jungle maps. Thats still very much a work in progress but hopefully results in some nice large junge maps..

only time can tell..

Personally I'd like to get away from having too many entire city maps (or entire flat desert maps for that matter), as often the game play feels a bit samey after a while. Larger maps which have a couple of medium sized towns/small villages would be more interesting for me.

More variation within a single map and more interesting use of combined arms would result imo, i.e certain area of the map are dominated primarily by armour/air power but the inf are still need to dismount the APCs and clear out the urban areas (in my mind the towns are large enough that you can't just blast them to bits like the villages in Kashan, you can hide effectively in them on foot...

Agreed. I find US always wins, because they've got Outpost and already control 2/3s the map, putting in lots of tunnels would help counter that and would definitely make me play insurgency on Korengal more (which is saying a lot from the guy who ALWAYS goes US on Korengal to defend Outpost)

Wut?

The insugents win 9 times out of 10 when I play Korengal the US fail miserably, the close combat nature of the majority of the map favours the AKs of the Taliban and as long as you have people milling about the general area of the cache and have hideouts and rallies up, you don't even need to be that organised in defence to stop US attacks unless they're particualrly well organised.

Everyone has different experiences though i suppose.

A ramiel type map with conventional AAS I think is something people crave.
