need help with the editor

i get the editor for bf2 where you can make new mod new maps new everthing if you want.

first i pic up the skin of the assult soldier then i looked where this pics where lay down.. then i took a 3d paint programm and paint a cigarette box on the helmet of the soldier, let it render from the programm and save. i went back and look at the soldier with the same file name have now a cigarette box on his helmet. i was impressed how easy it was to change that.

now i want to do a new map small for 16 players with 4 flags.
ok i started the editor and create a new map. he was loading and loading.................... and then a new map was create with 512x512. the ground just was made of 4-corners. no grass no water nothing. i thought ok i have to choose a layer like grass or just green underground. but as i wanna pick a layer there was nothing to load. ok first make a building, also no chance to load one.

what i have to do. where i find these layers or buildings? and where are all the files wich bf2 needs. the folders of bf2 seems empty for me. do i need to extract the files like in X3-reunion to mod em ??

in x3-reunion you have to extract big files with a programm wich make a folder with all the separeted files for skins planets etc. these you can mod and make new links to other files wich gives you new posibilitys to make new missions or links all over the universe.

how to do in bf2 ?? plz can anyone help ??

thx a lot ali-tom,

its poor that this forums get hacked only because a stupid has his fun.
i really need more info its hard to learn by trying something.

and if im good enough i will make you a little competition with my own reality mod.
im planing about 6 maps and serveral new tools.
also an artillery strike but its done with airplains who drop bombs. you just hear the aiplanes and then see the bombs falling down on target. i take 12 bombs from the 2sit airplaine wich i gonna drop.
it can be done all 10min so maximum 2 or 3 times in a battle.

i found 3ppl who live next door which also work with me on this project and im the worse one, thats why im searching all this forums and why im posting that much. i wanna learn as much as i can.
