Re: [Vehicle] Bushmaster
Haven't they already been phased in?

These obviously aren't Bushmasters but it still raises the question of whether they are being phased in now or have been already.

Re: [Vehicle] Bushmaster
----update----
Recently procured Protected Weapons Stations for the Bushmaster Infantry Mobility Vehicles will provide an additional capability to the //////////////////////////////and the deployment of the ///////////////////////////// in the Middle East
Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) and industry continue to deliver good results through rapid acquisitions.
In order to meet the tight timeframes and unique challenges such as installing the weapons stations in-theatre, Project Bushranger adopted a team-based streamlined approach to get the capability from industry to the front line.
‘The acquisition and installation enhances the Bushmaster’s ability to operate in dangerous environments. It increases the vehicle’s surveillance capability and enables the crew to observe and fire the MAG 58 machine gun from within the vehicle.
‘The PWS, also known as, Commonly Remotely Operated Weapon Stations (CROWS) provides an additional capability to the //////////////////////////// and the deployment of the ///////////////////////// in the Middle East,’
The highly technical protection system incorporates a colour day camera with a cooled thermal imaging camera to enable 24-hour all weather operations. It comes equipped with a laser range finder, is fully stabilised and is fitted with a 7.62mm MAG 58 machine gun.
The PWS is produced by an Australian company, Electro Optic Systems, with up to 50 per cent of the components produced in Queanbeyan, New South Wales , under a technology sharing arrangement with the United States (US). The US Army also operates CROWS.
Thales Australia, (Bushmaster’s original equipment manufacturer), tasked with conducting a Market Survey on the availability of ‘military off the shelf’ systems. DMO establishes project team.
Training and installation is undertaken in the Middle East
According to the Australian National Audit Office, unit price for Bushmasters in 2008 differed slightly between
variants, ranging from A$562,878 for the troop carrier variant and A$589,182 for the ambulance variant.
PWS systems to be deployed on following variants, note this does not include recent purchases of Protected Logistics Vehicles. (see 'Copperhead' FOV Armoured Combat Support Vehicle.)
Six Bushmaster variants are in production for the Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force. These
variants are:
•
Troop variant
•
Command variant
•
Assault Pioneer variant
•
Mortar variant
•
Direct Fire Weapons variant
•
Ambulance variant
----------end----------
i hope this wasn't to much.

i was just going over some of my Lit and i noted the IMV's have intergrated smoke launchers on all variants, i take it this is an option for us.
also, the PWS (crows) at the moment have a mix of mag58's, .50cal and mk19 agl's what are our options here?
