wasn't much impressed with the players on the server

Yeah, too many non-mumblers on IMO. (I think it was like 50/50 most of the time...)
Needs a password to work really well. Other than that, Good Game.

Yeah that was a problem, but it only tends to be people that spend alot of time on this forum, who actually know about Mumble. By telling people about Mumble on the RT server, already dozens of new people have installed it, who maybe never even visit this forum. The RT server, isnt like a Mumble night - its a teamwork server, that encourages use mumble.Gosu-Rizzle wrote:Yeah, too many non-mumblers on IMO. (I think it was like 50/50 most of the time...)
Im sure all the server admins will agree that it take time to establish a server, especially without a clan to back it up. Theres already a good group of guys who play on the server quite a bit, so hopefully over time, the base of good teamwork orientated players will grow.

It was so fun when squad of americans came to destroy our weapons cache in fallujah they used mumble to squad communication so i could hear them like days before they came in and was waiting with knife for them to come in, got only one of them before got pistoled to death
ops: but after i was dead but haven't spawned yet they continued using mumble and said they are going to set rally there.

Talking smack to the other team over Mumble while shooting at them, and standing over their bodies on Op Archer skirmish was epic alsoHieta wrote:It was so fun when squad of americans came to destroy our weapons cache in fallujah they used mumble to squad communication so i could hear them like days before they came in and was waiting with knife for them to come in, got only one of them before got pistoled to deathops: but after i was dead but haven't spawned yet they continued using mumble and said they are going to set rally there.

Re: Reality Teamwork Mumble Server
I love skirmish maps, and other people always seem love them them when they actually get the chance to play them. Unfortunately they often empty servers. I know that about a year ago, a clan tried to run a skirmish server, but its wasn't successful, which is a shame, as I had quite a few memorable times on it.
Do you guys think a special skirmish only night would be popular? I think that it might attract some good team play, because many of the non-team players leave a server, if there are no assets to play with.

Think that would be a fun idea. Skirmish maps are fun quick games, and i personally never like to leave a game mid way through so would be a fun way to get some quick game time in.

in my experience Skirmish maps are good for seeding up to 25 players, after that its time for larger maps.[R-CON]space wrote:I love skirmish maps, and other people always seem love them them when they actually get the chance to play them. I just loaded up Mumble for the first time, and wasn't particularly impressed. All I heard were 20 voices all blasting at the same time, most of which were players making stupid noises and squeeling loudly. I find a lot more maturity in just a normal squad with no Mumble. Maybe it was just a bad first experience.

^ if u are loading up you hear everyone. If you are ingme you only hear the people near you.
Mute ur headset if there are lots of peeps talking.
people do tend to spam mumble when maps are loading, mute it
its fixed in future version
Good fun tonight tho chaps. Once the password was on the dickwads couldn't get on, so it was good fun.

Yeah it was good. Shame we had to password it with zero notice to stop hackers. But even before it was passworded there was some great teamplay
I think the server will be whitelisted once we get to 128 forum members, as I think that any less than that isn't enough to fill it.

true rudd, it was fun but the lack of number of players made jabal boring at times.
Space, how bout having the server passworded when no admins are on but when an admin is on,
unpassword the server so dickwads can be kicked ASAP.

Re: Reality Teamwork Mumble Server
I think this happened before you joined dark, but the server was full, when we had the server crashed twice, and then a DOS attack, so we had to password it, with zero notice.
I think in future I wont use the password. If they decide to hack the RT server, then so be it - they cant hack every server at once, so at least theres another server not being hacked.
The bf2 1.5 patch is due very soon, and it looks like theyve resolved the problems they were having, so hopefully the name spoofing and server crashes will stop soon.

I will apologize for the technical problems, but we hope to fix them soon...

Twas epic! I remember on that map west Fallujah, i had gotten 2 squads of infantry, one with a hummer, to regroup and we were just about to move out.
I said on mumble

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

1. Hack was a name hack, 2 guys with the same name tried to connect = Crash
2. Unknown
3. A failed DoS attack, the server can handle it with out to many problems.
(The DoS attack was on the whole server, all of the servers that *RR* is hosting got high Ping. But it survived...

Re: Reality Teamwork Mumble Server
Again, great fun tonight, pretty much ruined at times by around 10-20% of the server pop. Some were just knobs, others were full blown Griefers. I would apprecaite you sharing the details of the guy posing as a member of MIF before C4ing choppers etc. He was pissing around all game, didn't provide effective CAS when he got the CAS chopper (despite being in a 'France' squad. He joined my air trans squad at the start, Told me to stop talking, muted himself, so I kicked him)
I look forward to the day the server has a large enough following to be passworded and full most nights. It would avoid the kind of **** the USMC had to put up with on Cuda, 2 CAS huey squads, stealing from eachother, and also stealing trans choppers, then disconnecting after 5 minutes because they crashed/were shot down. Ty to thelean + Himalde for some great teamwork on the ground. FU clan...not so impressed, 2 man squad with HATs etc = bad.
Also, is Battlercorder on? I went a full round of Cuda with a huey and didn't lose it once, even with the C4ing!
