The Should be russian in-game helmets.

Post by Ome99 »

All i see in the cuurent Russian faction in PR now is the old tin can helmet, I mean russians have other cool helmets like:
the modern "6B-7"

The "Sphera" helmet

Or my favourite, the "Maska" helmet

ALthogh the russian still use that tin helmet in few occasions, their army is not the ruin of the russian army from the ninties, they can afford new equipment, and are fielding them, it would still be realistic to add more modern equiment to the russians starting with the better helmets adn adding ither stuff like the "Barmitsa" infantry kit body armor (which i don't know the name of

P.S. Although i know that flora is the official BDU for the russians now, but they still use other camos like "Kmaysh" (russian for cane), seen being worn by the soldiers riding the apc in the piture above, and here another example with grad-1 tactical vest with kamysh camo:

it would be great if we can add that camo in, at least to some kits.

afaik the model for the helmet atm is a placeholder from hte MEC team that was reskinned.

I hope they do make their own kit geos eventually.

I don't think it's that big a deal, I can understand why you might want them though, although next time use the suggestions section ;)

But com'on, the british were not even on BF2 just like the russians yet they have some of the best models, and now they want to bring new factions too, shouldn't they first finish what they started, like proper models adn equipment for the russian army.

I believe the SSH-68M, a composite helmet, is currently the most common helmet among Russian infantry. Maska, Sphera, and the Bortiz-M all have their places among special services such as the VDV and Spetznaz.

But hey.. all my information is second or third hand.

Because allot of the Devs are British, obviously they are going to make a good skin of there own countries uniform. On top of that the Russian forces were created separately by a community modding faction, the Russian skins were not created by the PR devs who created the British skins, I could be wrong about that.

If you want a new Russian model so bad than take some lessons and create one, if you can make a better one than they did I am sure they would include it in the mod.

I agree with you, although don't the Russian forces have their own Dev team?

The Russians were a community mod, although they fall under the juristiction of PR now they were not a long time ago. The British models were made because one of the main objectives of PR was to add the British team. Watch the 0.5 teaser video...the Brits look pretty dumb in comparison to today.

the brits really had to be made from the scratch. there wasnt any geos in BF2 that would have suited them well. however the russians could get by with the mec geos until new ones are made. also, i dont know this from first hand experience but if i had to take a guess id say new players models are one of the hardest things to make because it seems like a big stumbling block for alot of the community mods.

with such attitude its possible to end up with army of clones with same weapon\vehicles and you'll have to imagine in your head that they are different armies with different weapons
