Whats the point of adding new transport choppers if the carrying capacity cannot be beyond 6, including pilot and two gunners, thus 3 net carried passengers. It's a waste of time and effort.
I brought this up in the last post, but no devs ever hinted at their status on this issue.

If vehicles made up of two vehicles combined could be made, I have a few good ideas.
Firstly, manual vehicle drops could be made. Dropping a humvee or a supply crate out the back of a chinook would be awesome, and now parachutes can be attached to both it's a reality.
Another thing would be to have sections on a vehicle. When you destroy the cockpit element of a vehicle it'd have a chain reaction making the rear end catch fire and fall to the ground, giving the passengers a chance to survive independantly. A lot of work, but just imagine how awesome that'd be.

If that happened, we could finally see the idea of having vehicles survive rocket attacks. A helicopter's cockpit is hit by an RPG, the cockpit explodes and the controls of the vehicle are destroyed. The whole cabin section of the aircraft catches fire and drops to the ground. Some parachute out, other's hit the floor with the vehicle. The crew scramble out and run for safety before the rear part of the vehicle exploodes. Some survive, other's don't. At the moment, a chopper is hit and it turns into a flaming wreck. There are no survivors.
I think I'm correct in thinking it'd be easier to have the two elements of the vehicle treated as seperate entities with seperate hit points would be easier to implement. Having the rear section act like a vehicle with no driving seat and the front section being a helicopter would probably be doable. By the way their hitpoints would level out, an explosion from either section would have enough splash damage to set the other section ablaze. A rocket to the rear would kill all the passengers and catch the front ablaze. A rocket to the front would destroy the controls and engine and set the rear ablaze.
It's perfect.

You do know that the Apache is already anounced.Tacticsniper815 wrote:I don't know why chinook has the biggest vote its the slowest and loudest chopper in the planet plus its a big target and easy to shoot down anyways I voted apache
The Merlin has also been anounced and the Gazelle is used by both the UK and other nations (some of witch are middle-eastern nations), The UK uses it as a recon helicopter wile others who cannot aford gunships use it as an anti-tank helicopter.

I dont think PR will use the Chinook because of the fact it is a heavy lift utility helicopter and cannot be used properly in the BF2 engine.Tacticsniper815 wrote:I know but I'm just saying the Chinook is real slow and loud and a big slow target wich makes it useless for combat its used as a cargo helicopter its used as a troop transport sometimes but not recommended
I could be wrong though, the Commando version is used to drop a large number of troops into battle and if a map required it, it may be a good choice.
I do not recomend the PR team waste there time on Puma's if they did not want to.
