PR Failed to start

I get an error message that says
"This application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem"

I did not install that microsoft framework thing, is that the problem?

yeah, I was playing last night, then when I went to play today, saw the "get it now...", I downloaded the patch, the core, the levels, everything, I installed the patch...didn't work. I installed the core and the levels, ran it, it starts up with a semi half screen saying PR...., then goes to black screen for about 20 secs, then back to desktop. I then reinstalled BF2, special forces, AF, EF, completely, then reinstalled the PR core, the levels tried it again...same thing. I have tried everything, can someone please help me. and yes I have the patches for BF2 1.41 and I have updated Microsoft.

Is there a pr.txt in your mod folder? (BF2/Mod/pr or BF2/mod/r)

Okay, same thing happened to me. I'm assuming vBF2 is working correctly?

Use the run/execute command under your start bar in windows and type:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe +modPath mods/pr +menu 1

ok, well guess what. the only way I could get this to work was completely uninstall BF2(except for profiles, screenshots). Once this is done restart your computer, then reinstall BF2 and patches....then install .0856 core, levels, and then .860 patch. It works, I tried everything else and this was the only way to get it to work and it works perfectly, of course this took a couple of hours, but it works.
