Okay my BF2 disk is scratched to hell and so I cannot play PR or BF2 etc. Don't say use my SF disk etc, BF2 is not installed so that wouldn't work

Now my friend's disk works, the question is, is it possible to install using his disk and CD key and then putting mine in for online play?

If not, I have SF, so could I use my SF disk + key over his BF2 disk to play?

Oh wait, install his BF2 with his CDkey, then install your SF. Should work, then you can use SF to play.

after install with friends disc:
- get a mini image of the disc (gamecopyworld.com)
- use Daemon or Alcohol to make a virtual disc with that image

thats what i do for every game i have...
i never touch the disc once the game's installed.

Ye so just virtually mount it using the windows utility - my main issue is the BF2 CD KEY issue....

I dont know if this will work but what if you were to install it using his key and then change the key in the regestry to your own. After that you could install SF and then just use that disk to authorize.

If your disk is scratched, surely you have your CD key from your BF2 box? I thought all the CDs were the same, it was just the the codes that differed?

BF2's going pretty cheap now, you could pick it up on a special offer. :)

Ye, what happened to your CD Key? You should be able to use his disk and your CD Key but useing his CD key would be illegal, not to mention that he cant play while your online and you can play while he is online (i think i havent checked that because ive never tryed it.)

Getting a mini-image would be a good idea as well, save a load of time starting up BF2/PRMM

This is the best part about Steam. As soon as you register your CD key with your account, it remembers you for life and you can download the game whenever you need it in case you lose the disc.

As long as you have a CD key it doesnt mater what CD you use to install. The CD's arent linked at all. The whole point of CD is to create a GUID which will always be used at only 1 time, that way stopping multiple play for just the 1 CD key.
