Sniper Accuaracy

Post by LechHools »

Hey i was playing PR 0.860 yesterday and i got the sniper kit then i was running to find a good place with it to snipe and then i saw the guys from other team i went to back of him(he was like 2 metres away) and then i tried to shoot him but the bullet hit the ground 2 metres away form that guy so i had to killl him with a pistol.

So the suggestion is make the sniper more precision (increase Accuaracy)

Anyone think this is possible ??

Please Answer

If used correctly, the sniper is very accurate.

yes but only when zoom and lying down i mean by standing i was close to that guy and the bullet hit the ground 2 metres away thats no realistic they should make it a bit more accaruate

accuarcy in pr m24 tweak file

Code: Select all

ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModStand 5
ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModCrouch 2
ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModLie .5
ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModZoom .2
it should be like this to make this more realistic :

Code: Select all

ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModStand 2
ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModCrouch 1
ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModLie .4
ObjectTemplate.deviation.devModZoom .2

He didnt really specify that he was aiming with the scope. The distance between the two was very short so my take is that he didnt use the scope and was firing from the hip. If this is true, although he has a point, he should also know that this was not the intention of the sniper rifle.. and given what can be done with the BF2 engine when it comes to simulating things, there'll always be trade-offs.

just because u didnt see any soldier standing and firing on a video so what about that so if u didnt see for real so that means it has to hit the guy 2 metres away just because u didnt see? hahahaha lol

when standing 2 metres away from the guy sniper should hit him for 90%

See the problem with that is people will start using it as a CQC thing (well the noobs mostly), and that is supposed to be a deterant

My suggestions are twofold:

1) You shouldn't be sniping by yourself; your observer should have popped the guy in the back of the head for you.

2) Stop double-posting ;)

I disagree Masaq, and I think the bigger issue of this thread (that snipers are ludicrously inaccurate except when prone and stationary for a very long time) was ignored in your reply.

Sure having a spotter would have fixed his little situation, but it doesn't mean that sniper deviation is realistic at the moment.

its lame when a military trained sniper hitting 2 meters of, shooting at a target 50-75m way. giving the BLUEFOR snipers more accuracy will increase realism alot. i love how the saw is now, its so deadly just how its suppoesed to be. so letting the m24, m40, L96 and all single shot boltaction rifles get the same lethality would be freaking sweet :camper:

Missing people at 50-75 meteres because you moved your scope a few degrees on an M40 is, and always fucking has been stupid.

I almost never use sniperkit, and it´s good that it is a little bit hard to play with. The sniperrifle should be used as a long range kit and with today sollution the user get forced to use it the proper way. I get impressed of the most skillfull snipers, and they allway make it a living hell for infantry running around.

hmm i have no trouble shooting close targets, even without breath - works okay if you ask me. If you try standup or crouch with a bolt rifle in reality, and try shoot a target 40-75meters away, well, its not as easy as you may think. :-)

from my PoV it works as intended.

Something like that, except I like to put it across my arm

Bend your knees

Breath in

Hold it

Shoot

It's not that hard I could hit a 2 litre bottle at that distance and I'm 15 (well I've been around guns for a while)

Well with snipers never carry your rifle when moving just use your pistol, if your target is close dont even think about your rifle, thats just pretty silly. Also when you are at the hip with your rifle you havnt shouldered it, so you cant just shoot it willy nilly, the recoil will be huge, no way your shots going where you want.

Beautiful..

Nice...

Oh and BTW.. the SL of the SNIPER SQUAD should be the spotter, Not the guy with the Rifle.

Its fine as it is I always walk around with the sidearm if I have the sniper rifle(usually taken when I am ins and I pop a sniper with my bayonet or knife). The deviation forces you to find good positions where you can engage on a longer range.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

There are very skill full PR-snipers out there. Train and play, train and play..many hours. Learn the map, learn the spots.

Like in all FPS games.

Patience...

And yes. The pistol is still the best weapon in PR.
