Do you mean not enough people using it, or do you mean you dont like the spam between rounds?Tartantyco wrote:-Until people get their sh*t together on Mumble I'm not going to play on this server.
Most of today theres been 30-40 people on mumble, which is pretty good for a public server, but there will be more once it can be passworded.

Re: Reality Teamwork Mumble Server
played for a while on your server tonight, nothing outstanding but w/o fail though, thats good
cons: you need to sort out your mumble policy, make stricter rules. It started to annoy me when people were talking force center "let me join your squad, i has mumble..." or informed whole server that they CTD'ed and pissed me off at Bi Ming, where some douches were making stupid jokes\ sounds etc on force center for ~5 minutes after round start

-The spam. Tried to get a squad together on Bi Ming today but people were talking constantly despite people telling them to shut up. As a result I couldn't talk to my squad at all.space wrote:Do you mean not enough people using it, or do you mean you dont like the spam between rounds?

-Right now the people on mumble are three times as bad as any pubber because they think that they're the most 1337 people playing PR, that they're entitled to attention, and that people actually care about the pointless drivel they spam over mumble. What is needed is strict rules and harsh punishments, kicks and bans. Right now people are treating the server as if it's some "kewl kidz club" where they can just mess around and act like retards and unless strict rules are applied this will not go away.

Yeah, I must admit I didn't expect this 'air of entitlement' mumble seems to give people.
Gotta have the voice Tartan. I remember som1 said the N word in a channel I have admin rights of, and I made the server go silent for about 2 minutes with just the menace of my voice

Re: Reality Teamwork Mumble Server
We cant apply for Mumble admin rights until our server licence is passed, and we are still waiting on that. As soon as we have mumble admin rights, we can then drag people to the correct channels etc, and enforce stronger rules on spam, but in the meantime there's not a whole lot that can be done.
People really do need to learn to stfu during map start countdowns, and also I think that alot of new users do not realise their "mic check" or "hi guys" is going out to all 64 players on the server.

Binding a deafen key for inter round is useful if you don't want to hear all the **** that goes on. Would be nice if the last 1.30 were kept silent though ( and in game obviously). Other than that it doesn't bother me.

Re: Reality Teamwork Mumble Server
Yeah I feel you Tartantyco. Mumble Channel Admins will be sorted along with the white-listing of the server. This means only certain people can come in and once they are out it will be them going through an appeal to be un-banned. Dont worry. people just wan to some fun.Tartantyco wrote:-The spam. If your looking for HARDCORE PUNISHMENTS, this is a modification for FUN. As quoted by rhino.." we aren't getting paid to do this, its fun." and their is a FINE LINE from Fun and stupid. but we are new and getting into the swing of things.

Re: Reality Teamwork Mumble Server
-This is something that I shouldn't have to do on this server, it's meant to promote serious teamwork and people shouldn't be acting like children. The server needs strict rules and harsh punishment because people shouldn't have problems following the rules, but unless these rules are made and enforced people are just going to act like it's "their" server.IAJTHOMAS wrote:Binding a deafen key for inter round is useful if you don't want to hear all the **** that goes on. Re: Reality Teamwork Mumble Server
Yea I remember that you people said there would be no adminning on this server because everyone was serious and like minded. So there shouldnt be a deafen key or stuff like that once the server is whitelisted
I played here yesterday around 4 uk time. Just when there where some nice people getting on. It seems the Insurgent team was as disorganised as ever but the US team used the Mumble broadcast button to work together somewhat.
Basically like most other feedback so far, the only difference is that theres more mumble going on, but not more teamwork than other servers. But that can be explained probably.

Just saw it Wigga, cheers mate!
You were on the server last night I remember, I had some of the best rounds I've played due to use of Mumble. Can't wait to get gaming tonight after a bullshit party I have to go to with the family..

Its still a public server, so no, its not perfect by any means - but it does seem to get better all the time.[R-COM]cyberzomby wrote:Yea I remember that you people said there would be no adminning on this server because everyone was serious and like minded. I disagree with the teamwork part though. The fact that over half the server is on Mumble, leads to better teamwork, though it tends to be in small ways, like speaking to apc drivers, or blue medics etc.
The biggest fail of the server so far, is the serious lack of people going Commander. I think that is a PR wide problem, and I cant blame them, as I don't want to go commander either! When there has been a Commander things have worked much better imo. I miss the days of 0.7 when there almost always used to be a commander, and people used to rush to get the position

Still an unfixed problem in 0.86 it seems with nothing done despite the massive discussion. I hope the devs take note before 0.9.
As for the server, had a good round on Muttrah yesterday with the old mumble fired up, thanks also to himj and the swedish guy who joined our squad.

Well, i really hope to make more platoons in the future, i think it even should be a "requierment" If you know, like people should be told to go togheter...
Think of it as a way of living longer, and having a more presence. The only problem with more people though, is that the enemy has more to shoot at.
Its all about placement
Im looking forward to more awesome stuff in the future! Like platoons etc.
