Small things about .86

Post by Warpig- »

I didn't really wan't to start another thread, but it seems like there aren't too many praise threads. So here goes.

There's quite a few little things I've noticed about .86 that really make it for me.

The Aimpoints are fecktonnes better, they're a joy to use now and I'm picking the non-ACOG kits a lot more often.

The 4x zoom finally makes the LMG kits able to reach out to their functional range and it finally puts the fear of god into anything unfortunate enough to be within ear shot.

It runs a whole lot better, I don't know if it was the level tweaks or what but it seems to run much better

The new weapon sounds are much better, I noticed them fairly quickly. They're a nice change

The chopper damage has created some great scenarios where they fall out of the sky instead of blowing up vanilla styles

The new medic system works a treat, no more zombie squads, yet the medics/coprsemen are spread out enough that they're still effective at healing your minor wounds/reving you.

Just an example of a typical .86 game for me so far.

We had a few squads on a hill on 'cuda, we were getting ripped up by a Chinese machine gun (It was actually raking the hill with a fair amount of accuracy, something you really didn't see before with LMGs). So I called the (singular) medic over and he did his job, got us up and running and we move out cautiously. I had my aimpoint and I was slowly walking down the hill popping shots into the assaulting Chinese troops as they climbed upwards towards us. We pushed forwards and took their position, clearing about 3 RP's.

One of the best games of PR I've had in a fair while, the patch might not have loads of eyecandy. But the gameplay has been polished and tweaked and it shows.

Cause we throw bombs on it, throw bombs on it. Just smash something, yeah mosh for me.
