Ok, I have seen some threads closed in this forum because the people posting the bugs are basically being told they are wrong. However, I've noticed, as another thread that got locked, is that it is very possible to have two LMG's per squad. By picking up the AR, then having the original AR spawn in, it is very possible to have any limited spawn kit (AR/Medic) within the squad. In turn, I have found this permanently disabled another squad's ability to request an MG for the rest of the round. Creating a new squad will not fix this either, as I read it does.

It seems that if somebody uses this exploit (which is incredibly easy to do), it removes the team's ability to request these kits after it has been done. I also witnessed a similar problem on Fools Road, where there was only 2 Medic kits able to be used on the Chechen rebels side. This has all been done on a normal, 64 player server, and the bug has happened on both Insurgency and AAS modes.

Agreed, my squad could not request the Medic kit on Qwai River - =Dam+ clan server tonight. Someone would try every few minutes for well over an hour and just got the squad limitation message. Getting the AR kit for a member worked OK.

We didn't think to check to see if another squad had 2 medics in it though.

Hi,

had the same problem last night. i was supposed to go medic but could not get the kit. we had 3 medics in team with 31 players. After my squadleader created a new squad i finally could spawn in as medic or request the kit from a crate.

I believe that if someone has a medic kit, requests another kit, and then keeps that, you won't be able to select the medic till they de-select the medic in their spawn screen. (I.E. When they are dead)

Yeah, that happened last night with me and my squad. I had spawned as a medic but picked up a squadmembers SAW after he died

1) Spawned as medic
2) Grabbed a specialist kit as we were being driven back and I ran out off ammo
3) We couldn't get a new medic kit
4) Squadleader executed me

I came to a similar conclusion yesterday when playing Al Basrah on thebattlearena server. :)

The squad had an APC, with two crewmen and the squad leader riding along. A fellow foot soldier joined the squad and spawned with a regular rifleman kit. No medics in the squad. I try to select the kit, but it says Choose Another Kit with the black screen and 6000 spawntime.

So, I'm thinking one of the crewmen in the squad spawned with the medic kit, then requested crewman. I suppose the system still thought he had medic. A small flaw with this new regulating feature of .86. :) '

There are certain individuals that would try to damage their own team for whatever frivolous purpose or purposes. And some people may accidentally create this bug, so it's quite important to get this problem's information and have it fixed. :)

Just thought I would get my SS's in for this bug. Have had a round where the whole team couldn't get a medic :(

This is correct, although if you are organized the former medic can request another Medic kit for the squad, and then de-select when they die.

Just wanted to add my voice to the masses here. Dropped kits and transferred squad members should not detract from the squad's limited kits forever. I have been on many squads where the Medic kit is unavailable for the majority of the game, and it sucks. This is the most annoying PR 0.860 problem I've come across.

I did notice yesterday some thing strange on korengal valley
i did accidentally requested AA kit -i took it , than i switch to my old Ak than i waited by the cashe for 5 mins to get my combat engi kit ,but guess what the AA kit didn't dis pear for more than 5 mins ,usual every kit despairs in about 20- 30 sek

I've seen this happen on korengal too. I was in US main, standing next to the vehicle supply depot, when I suddenly spotted a HAT kit lying on the ground and it wouldn't disappear even I waited there several minutes. I almost thought it was some sort of easter egg :)

I had the same problem early today where we could not select a medic kit. The round had just begun and we had a medic, an AR, 3 riflemen, and SL. The medic left the server while he had the kit, and we could no longer use the kit.

My friend saw this one too, I think it wasn't Korengal though. He told me that the kit was HAT but then turned into AA. o_O

Yeah the pics on the kits are buggy sometimes, a AA can turn itself into a HAT when you take it into your hands.

Yeah problem is very annoying indeed especially when some nub joins a squad just to request the kit and go rambo with it. I wonder if this suggestion can be put in to place:

- If a member of a squad spawns with a limited kit and leaves, they require to join a squad or be killed. Just like if you sat in armour without a crewman kit or not in a squad.

One other thing I noticed is that, if you switch teams before the round begins, (i.e. New round begins with an auto teamswitch) you decide you wanna play as the other team again, when you switch over, the kit selection screen becomes active but after going to the squad screen, it dissappears. In the time the kit selection screen is active I chose the AR kit and when I joined a squad after selecting it gave me a 6000 second spawn time. and even afterwards both the limited kits arent available for the squad for the whole round.

Solutions tried:

- Re-creating the squad. Bug still remains.

- Joining another squad. Bug still remains.

BTW. the AR kit is freaking awesome. Uber ownage. Great patch!

I have a suggestion for improved implementation of limited kits:
  • Only prevent spawing with a limited kit if there is one currently alive or wounded in the squad.
  • To prevent multiple limited kits in a squad due to kit pickups, remove dropped kit as soon as the dead player respawns.
This should ensure that each squad is allowed only one of each limited kit, but prevent obnoxious situations where a squad can't have a Medic or an AR.
