i encounter the same problem.
It say "The game can not start. In order to launch this game, please login to the EA Download Manager to verify your ownership, then try again."
But i already logged in.

I some times get that. Log out then backin launch vanilla then close then launch PR. Its just having a brain Fart.

EA downloader occasionally has a stroke, just restart it, make sure the process has ended.


Alternatively, you can download the CD version of the BF2.exe then mount a mini image of the CD in Daemon tools, and the game things its the non-downloader version and will run fine.

No if you have an original cd-key...
I also downloaded the whole BF2 game with a mini image just to keep the DVD safe.
The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not "Eureka!" [I found it!] but "That's funny . . . "

Not if you have purchase the game already, its been years since BF2 came out, my BF2 CD hasn't survived.

It seems to be a server issue

Apparently, it should be fixed by this weekend:
I have call at the support in France.
They know the problem.
They'are working for repair it.
Wait maximum is of 72 hours...

PS: I do realise they say to have a solution, but not having tried it out myself, I would rather not post it.

Seens that mini image is the only solution right now. i will try, own u a big thx, bro

i had the same thing, couldn't play for 4 days, then it just went away.

of course maybe you just forgot to turn on EA LINK?

I have the same problem, I have have tried reinstalling everything, I sent a message to EA but got a crappy generic answer, so if anyone hears of a solution please let me know.
